I Am Fearful Of Smiling In Public, What Can I Do?

Q.
Hello, I have an issue with my smile. Being that it is rather small and my teeth hardly show and it is just not nice at all. It has become such a problem that i rarely smile in public at all now, and i although i am a friendly and bubbly guy, i feel i am becoming more awkward to be around sometimes due to this problem. i would love to have a better smile to give me the confidence to have a laugh and a joke with friends without the fear of people looking at my awful smile. anything that could be done would be great to hear about.

Hello, thank you so much for your question. This is a very common feeling so rest assured that you are not alone. Your teeth can have a big impact on your confidence and social troubles are something that most people share. If they are crooked so don’t show or if they are just small then there are a number of treatments that a dentist can offer you if you go for a consultation and express your concerns. From what you are saying it sounds as though orthodontic treatment (braces) or veneers may be a help, but you will need to see a cosmetic dentist or orthodontist to find out exactly what would be the best solution for you.
