How Old Do You Have To Be To Get Veneers? I’d Like To Close The Gaps In My Teeth.

Hi Dr Shaffie, I just want to know how old do you have to be to have veneers and do you have to get them done at your own dentist or can you have them done anywhere? Do they also cover big gaps? because I have a really big gap in my teeth and I want to get rid of it because I always cover my mouth when I speak and hide my teeth, but I’m only 16 and somebody told me I can’t have them at this age, also how long do they take to have done? Or is there any other way to hind gaps/get rid of them? I hope you can help me, and thank you for any advice in advance.

Hello. I would say it’s a little too early to do veneers at your age but braces could close the gaps and it is good to do it before 18. At 16 you are entitled to NHS orthodontic treatment also, but not after so I’d advise you to make use of this while you can, we have an orthodontist in our clinic if you would like to come in for a chat.
