It is hard to say because there are many factors which have to be taken into account.

ie. bite forces, is there opposing teeth or dentures, volume of bone,etc

I do not tend to use minimplants often, because there is not a great deal of long term studies. Patients can have good retention for a lower denture by having 2 or 3 conventional implants, if budget is an issue.
