How long will i have to wait to wear a denture after my bone graft?

Q.
Hi

I had a front tooth extracted 6 months ago, and due to short roots on my front teeth, a bridge is not an option. I have a denture at the moment, but I have been told if I want an implant, I would need a bone graft first. Will the graft damage or loosen the teeth either side, and how quickly will I be able to wear my denture after the graft. Thanks

A.
The bone graft would not effect your other teeth. Depending on swelling usually the denture can be put back in straight away, the dentist may have to trim the denture so it is not touching the graft. Worse case you may have to leave it out for a few days just to let the swelling settle down.

Do you really need bone grafting when you are going to have partial or full dentures?

Bone grafting is normally for implants so maybe check with your dentist what he has planned for you?

Several of my back teeth have been missing for several (15+) years. I just recently purchased partial Valplast dentures. After taking the impressions (and purchasing) the dentures, my dentist has now informed me they will not work for me. Is this correct? I chose Valplast because of their natural appearance and stability. PLEASE help.

Not all dental appliances will work in every situation. See if your dentist can offer you an alternative that will work
