How long do dental implants last for?

Q.
how long does an implant last tooth itself . i was told 10 to 15 years then it needs to be replaced.im getting 4 implants with 2 attached teeth total of six. how long does healing process take before implants are placed after teeth are extracted.
A.
I’m going to generalise as there are no absolutes in any surgical/medical procedure, but if the implants themselves fully integrate into the bone without any problems or infection then they could last forever. What can need to be replaced are the crowns or bridges attached to them. For very high quality work yes these could last 10-15 years but once again there are no absolutes.

The success of your treatment and it’s lifespan can very much be dependant on the quality of the implants and crown work used, the skill and experience of the dentist, the difficulty or complexity of your individual case, how many good healthy teeth you have, your general health and your dental health.

I hope that helps answer your questions somewhat. In a lot of cases a full 6 months is needed after implant placement before the final treatment but this can be shorter in some cases. Your dental implant expert can advise you on all this.
