How do I close a tooth gap?

Q.
Hi,

I broke my front tooth in my childhood. Later I realized that there is a problem with my broken tooth.

Then I had gone through the Root Canal Treatment for my front 3 tooth and porcelin crowned in 2003.

In initial there was little bit gap between them.

But now the gap has been widen up and looking odd.

Could you please suggest me if there any possibility to close that gap between crowned tooth?

Thanks for your time doctor

A.
Hi
I would see why the gap has widened first of all (are the gums healthy and the tooth support good?). Depending on the size of the gap, you could look at bonding (adding tooth coloured filling material) or a veneer on the tooth on the other side of the gap and / or replacing the crown that you currently have. Often treating both teeth will allow the best balance and maintaining a good tooth height-width ratio for appearance.
Good luck

To respond to your qietsuon about billing code(s) used: removal of tooth #23 was a routine extraction billing code D7140. the extracted tooth was used as a pontic (replaced missing tooth). Teeth #’s 22 27 received lingual bonded splinting incorporating the extracted #23 as the pontic. Teeth #’s 22, 24,25,26,27 were each billed As 3 surface composites MLD using code D2332. This patient has moderate to advanced periodontal disease and by splinting the five remaining mobile teeth together, we hope to prolong their life and usefulness.

One of my front teeth came out last night and i cant get appt at dentist for 2 weeks. Is there anything that could be done to see me through the next few weeks rather than a horrifying gap in my mouth? Front upper left tooth that has come out. The tooth had a small crack for a while, and it just came out last night with no pain at all…..is there anything that could be done to help me at all??

Hello, I’m sorry you have this problem. I’m afraid I cannot answer for the length of time for an appointment and between these appointments there is not much you can do as far as I can see but you may decide to try an appointment as a private patient as the waiting list may be shorter.
