How Could My Smile Be Improved?
Q.
Instead of having 4 front top teeth, I only have 3. What is your recommendation to get a nice smile? I have no gaps/spaces between any of my teeth. My 4th teeth never grew in. I don’t believe I have a 4 tooth at all. I am 36 years old and never take pictures with my family. I have 4 children, 2 boys and 2 girls, and husband. They all love to smile and take pictures, however I don’t. I would love to take a family portrait, but I am not comfortable with showing my teeth. I have recently been going to the dentist to get my cavities taken care of. I would never go to the dentist in the past because I am afraid to let people look in my mouth.

Hi, thank you for your question. There could be several options, maybe a complex one involving making space for your missing tooth using orthodontics and then placing a new one, or ‘masking’ or creating an optical illusion that the correct tooth is in the correct place by using veneers or bonding. I would need to examine you and see the situation in person to advise you properly but there could be a few choices.

A very good experienced cosmetic dentist can advise you. Best wishes, Mark.
