How Can My Child’s Fluorosis Be Treated?

Q.
Hello, I hope you can help. My little 7 year old daughter’s teeth have began erupting. She is showing signs of moderate fluorosis with white opaque patches and yellow marks on her front incisors. I realise she is still very young, but this is extremely distressing for her. She was once a bubbly happy child but is now being bullied at school, it’s horrible. Is there anything that can be done now to ease her suffering? Thank you.
A.
Hi, thank you for getting in touch. Yes, there are several options. A lot of what’s on offer will depend on the severity and depth of the discoloration. Options could be bonding, fluoride application or calcium ion application. Take her to a highly experienced dentist and they will be able to assess her situation properly and provide the best solution.  Regards, Mark.
