How Can I Improve the Suction on my Dentures?
Q.
I’m 60 years old and just received my second set of dentures. My question is: The top denture feels like the suction should be better than it is, once they are made can they add to the back (length) so that the suction would be better? They look like they could stand to be a little longer in the back. With my previous set (top) when they were first made, the suction was great but I lost weight and they became loose and would drop down. With this new set, the top just doesn’t have the suction I feel it should. Thank you so much.

Hello, thank you for your question. It might be a good to make the palate a bit longer to help with suction or to reline the top plate if that doesn’t work. Best wishes, Andrew.
