How Can I Close a Gap Caused by Ulcerated Gingivitis?

Q.
I have a gap in between my front two teeth due to ulcerated gingivitis, which has now cleared up. I’ve noticed that my gum has shrunk away from my teeth and sometimes they hurt when I bite crusty bread or an apple. One of my front teeth has moved slightly forward as well. I brush my teeth twice daily and use inter-dental brushes when cleaning my teeth, plus use a mouthwash that is designed to improve gum health. What would you advise to correct this gap?
A.
Hello, thank you for getting in touch. There are many options – it really depends on the size of the gap and what your expectations are for the results. You could possibly have: bonding, veneers, crowns or orthodontics. My advice is to now see an experienced cosmetic dentist for a thorough examination and consultation on your options. Regards, Mark.
