Hi. When you have had root canal teatment, how long

Q.
Hi. When you have had root canal teatment, how long is left until the crown fittings? Then, is the tooth protected temporary? Thankyou
A.
Hi,
That depends…if the tooth requires the support of the crown urgently, then we often place the crown immediately. In some cases we place a temporary crown, especially if we are planning other dental treatment or crowns in adjacent teeth at a later stage. It is often wise to allow the tooth to settle for a period of time following the root canal completion to ensure that it is fully healed and has been successful. If the root canal specialist or dentist has advised the crown is placed immediately, then this is usually to try to avoid fracturing of the remaining tooth. Root canal treated teeth are very prone to fracture and crowns are almost always required in the long term.

Dhes Says :

Hi I have PFM crowns on my front teeth and I’m kinda frustrated 🙁 because it looks so opaque that you can even tell its fake. I’m planning to change it to all porcelain or zirconia crowns. I dont know which one is better, I’m considering aesthetics and durabiltiy. Please Help me.

Also, My gum line on my front teeth (only) are low, so my dentist advised me to have a crown lengthening to improve my smile. My inside teeth that are left are still ok to hold the crowns, If i decided to have crown lengthening for cosmetics will there be a future risk that I can encounter? I dont know what to do.

Hope to hear from you. god bless!
