Q. Hi, I am hoping that you might be able to help me. I am researching into getting my teeth whitened. I have looked at Enlighten which appeals to me, but I have also come across a website where you buy the bleach direct, and fit your own impressions etc, basically cutting out the middle man, the URL is brightsmiledirect.com and they provide a “true professional system-with professional strength 22% carbamide peroxide gel”. Please can you tell me why Enlighten would be better than this? Many thanks in advance

A. I would firstly ot advise that you go for the do-it-yourself impressions and trays etc.
The enlighten trays are made specially- with a patented design that nobody else can copy. The trays fit more closely around the teeth and the whitening solution lasts all throughout the night. The solutions that you by on the internet stop activating after about 1 hour. Also, the trays that are constructed over the net can leak the whitening gel becuase they are not as good fitting. This can lead to the risk of burning your gums etc.
Also, it is important that a dental professional keeps you monitored throughout the treatment.
