Do zirconium dental crowns cause cancer?

Q.
hello, i wanted to ask you if dental crowns made from zirconium can cause cancer.does it have titanium?my mum had a breast cancer, chemo radiation treatment and now 10 months after finishing tretment shes going to replace her crowns and fillings and she needs to know which crowns are best for her.
thank you
A.
Hi. Zirconia dental crowns do not cause cancer. They do not contain titanium as they are metal-free and made fully of ceramic. They would be a good choice for replacement of her old crowns. Please go to see a dentist who is experienced in the use of these materials to achieve the very best results.

Zirconium is radioactive. Radioactivity reduction is attempted through different methods but results are variable. All radioactive materials are mutagenic, and therefore could cause cancer. Please, if you are going to call yourself an expert, be accurate.
