Do I need my bottom teeth moved in order to align my upper teeth?

Q.
Hi, my two front teeth misalign a little bit (less than 2mm). I went to see the dentist today and he said my case is qualified and would take about 6-8 weeks. However, if I were to have an inman aligner treatment, he will have to push the lower teeth back to have room. Therefore, the cost of the treatment is double from £995 per arch to total £2,200. I just would like to see your point if it’s always necessary that the dentish has to push the lower teeth first before pull the upper front teeth? I just don’t want to be over charged if there are alternative more affordable price that give the same result. Please kindly advice. Thank you.

The dentist is quite right.
If your lower teeth are in certain position, then there will not be any room for your per teeth to be pushed back/aligned.
They just wont move beyond the position of the lowers. Fixed ortho would probably be the most advisable option for quickness of treatment, although it is less discreet. Hope this helps.

How would the front 4 top and bottom teeth align in an ideal situation? Are they supposed to touch tip to tip?
