Do I have to wait until I am 18 to get braces?
Q. Hiya i have just been refered to my local orthodontist by my dentist but he said it will take 6-8 weeks for them to get back to me, as i am 18 at the end of march i am worried that by the time i actually come to get my braces it will be too late and i will have to pay, would this be the case? as i am really unsure please email me back kind regards.,
A. Hi RebekahThanks for your questions, it is unusual for patients over the age of 18 to get Orthodontic treatment free of charge on the NHS. It may be worth contact the practice which you have been referred to, to clarify your position. Many practices who offer Othrodontic treatment to adults, are able to offer interest free credit to help finance the treatment.RegardsDr Kailesh Solanki
