Did procedure lead to these new problems?

Q. Hi, Just before Xmas i had a tooth prepared for a Crown. My Dentist didnt place a temporary on as “your gum is a bit sore wont put temporary on to give it time too heal”. What with the Xmas period and not having the money to pay the remaining balance I went back 5 weeks later to have the Crown fitted. When I went back the Dentist said “just going to remove the temporary”. I told her she never put one on and she did seem slightly surprised. She’d obviously forgot she’d not put one on… Sorry this is long winded..Now i have sensitivity to hot and cold and have an awful taste and smell coming from that area. Is this because the crown doesnt fit properly as my teeth shifted from not having a temporary on? That is a guess but obviously I would value yr professional opinion. Please help as iv’e paid £400 for this treatment and now have sensitivity and smelly breath that i didnt have before!!,
A. I’m not really sure what happened but it might be that the gum has shrunk back leaving a gap, this maybe causing the sensitivity. I would explain this to your dentist and see if she can rectify the problem, perhaps with a new crown?

I have the same problem, I believe its bactria that is living deep inside the gum pocket and that where the smell is coming from. And I already had a deep cleaning and visit the dentist and still have that smell.
But what I am trying know is hyrogen proxide reinse and cleaning the pocket with deep cleaning bristled picks they only cost $3 and as I clean I irragate with mounth wash and it has hepped allote good luck.

Hello, i would like to make an appointment to see someone about getting veneers on my front two teeth as they cross over slightly. Are consultations free?

my gums have receded and the roots of my teeth are exposed. I have several deep cleaning sessions and have been toldthat my gums are a lot better now. I am not happy with the roots of my teeth exposed. I would like to have a consultation with you to see if it possible to have a gum graft and what the cost would be. Please let me know if there is anything you can do. Many thanks

I went to the dentist and they have told me that i have bone loss and Gum desease. I went there 6 months ago and they did not mention this then. I am no worried that i am going to loose teeth. My teeth look ok but i have noticed over the last few years that I have large gaps between some teeth and they are coming forward. My question is can I have braces once i have the gum desease under control or can i do something about the gaps for now while i am treating. I am gettinga deep clean next week, if i keep brushing flossing and mouth wash 3 times a day is this enough to keep the desease under control. Regards

The regime for gum disease is thorough home cleaning and professional deep cleaning and scaling, if this is followed it can be treated then if suitable a brace could be used to reposition the teeth

What gap should there be between an implanted full 12 unit upper bridge and the gum. I know the bridge doesn’t sit ON the gum, like a denture but I expected a snug fit with just enough room for cleaning with a water pick.

It should be just sitting on the gum but you should be able to get floss undeneath

yesterday I had a crown removed and replaced with a small denyure with two teeth attached, the denture looks fine but I’m having a great deal of difficulty removing it for cleaning both the denture and my teeth which I feel is necessary at the moment until my gum has healed so is ther an easy way of removing partial dentures apart from trying to ease it away from my pallette with the aid of my tongue and then using my fingers without the danger of breaking the plate

I am looking for an oral water-jet system to clean the mouth after brushing. I am not keen on the flosses or the brushes that are in the market. I have seen 2 products and would like to know which one is better: Is the Panasonic EW-DJ40 DentaCare Cordless Rechargeable Oral Irrigator better than the Panasonic Dentacare EW1211 Rechargeable Oral Irrigator? Also what is the Waterpik Ultra Cordless Dental Water Jet WP450 like in comparison?

I think they all work ok but aren’t a substitute for thorough brushing and flossing
