Dear Enquirer,
The results that can be achieved with orthodontics today are far better than just a few years ago. We can now create beautiful smiles and faces in about half the time.
The Damon® System uses a passive slide mechanism that eliminates any friction, so that we can use lighter forces to move teeth. With the Damon® System, teeth move more freely and comfortably throughout treatment and as a result far fewer adjustments are required.
Many Damon® patients see a noticeable change not only in their teeth, but in their entire face as the Damon® System creates a beautiful, broad, natural smile, which provides stunning facial balance, and a more youthful look.
At my practice, the following happens,
During your initial consultation, you would have a thorough examination of your teeth, jaws and face. This is usually followed by photographs, radiographs (x-ray) and impressions (moulds) of your teeth.
After this you would receive a comprehensive treatment plan. You may be necessary to invite you for a second appointment so that we can consider the records that have been taken and decide upon a treatment plan. You would then have the opportunity to ask any questions that you may have and discuss the various payment options. It would take approximately one hour for this initial visit, as I believe that it is important for you to have a clear understanding of all aspects of your proposed treatment.
Fit appointment
Once all the diagnostic information has been taken, the treatment plan has been agreed, we would then be ready to place the braces. Before a brace is fitted, we would ask you to see our hygienist for professional cleaning of your teeth and gums.
The Damon brace consists of several brackets which are gently bonded to the teeth. The brackets are connected by a thin piece of wire called archwire. Fixed braces are normally fitted at one appointment and takes about an hour. No anaesthetic is needed and it is a simple comfortable procedure. The treatment can take from 6 months to 18 months depending on the severity of the crookedness of your teeth.
Treatment costs are approximately £4500 to £5000.
If you are in the London area, you are welcome to come to come and see me for an initial consultation.
I hope this helps,
