Could my doctor refer me for cosmetic dentistry treatment?

Q. Hello Dr, I wondered if you could please provide me some advice? I have very uneven teeth at the front of my mouth, the top 4 are all very squint and this has given me a severe self image complex for years. I never smile with my mouth open, I’m scared to speak to people normally without putting my hand over my mouth. I also have a disorder called Borderline Personality Disorder, which doesn’t help me with my self esteem, and the image I have of myself. I don’t have the money to have cosmetic dentistry done, but I wondered if my Doctor could refer me for cosmetic dentistry to be done on my teeth. Because one of my tooth is so prudruding, it has also began to rot and looks terrible. I could get it filled at the dentist, but I just wondered if i could be referred for cosmetic dentistry instead? Yours hopefully,
,
A. Hi there, I am sorry to hear about your predicament. It sounds as though your smile isn’t helping you overcome your disorder. For any treatment that you may need, there are different methods of payment. Many clinics offer 0% interest ree credit to make your monthly payments affordable. Alterantively, your local primary care trust (PCT) may be able to advise you of where you can receive dental treatment Good luck
