Could I change from an NHS dentist to a private dentist?

Q.
I have two false teeth in the front, one of which is recent, the tooth to the left side has had a root canal and has gone black and it looks awful. The corner of the tooth has just broken off, and i will now need it seeing to. I was told that it would have to be filed down to a peg and a crown added which would cost £300 this is with a private dentist, i was seeing, the cost of my last lot of treatment has been high and i just cant afford to pay private. Could i change to a nhs dentist while still on the books at the private one? I am a very nervous person when it comes to dentists and it took me so long to go, i started to cry just filling in forms. Is there any way that the old filling can be taken out and a white one put in and the tooth be built up on the corner? Thank you for giving this matter your attention.

I am sure you can go and see an nhs dentist.
