Why is unfinished root canal treatment causing me pain?

Thursday, March 4th, 2010
Q.
On the 5th Jan I had a crown fitted on a tooth that had broken my previous dentist said thet due to age teeth become brittle and she tried to repair it. I change my dentist to one nearer home and they fitted a crown since then I have been back with pain. The third week I went back and root canal treatment was performed. Last week I was due to have the root canal treatment finished but I had pain in my lower jaw and a slight ear ache I asked the dentist to give me some antibiotics ib case there was any infection and could I have the root canal treatment finished the following week which I am due on tuesday. I still have some pain but painkillers help. What should I do,

I had root canals but should I consider implants?

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010
Q.
About 5 years ago I had an accident that required restoration to my front top teeth. I have one missing incisor because of that accident as well that is now bridged. I had root canals on 4 teeth that are now starting to need retreats because of infection. I’ve also been told that there is some decay on one tooth that might require a reconstruction of the whole bridge area. I have a few questions, 1. should a root canal last longer than 5 years? 2. How does tooth decay happen on a root canaled/crowned tooth and is it preventable? 3. I was 25 when the accident happened and was never offered the implant option, should that be something I consider now? Thank you in advance for your answers.,

What can be done to stop teeth from turning black?

Friday, February 26th, 2010
Q.
Hi, one of my top front teeth started to show signs of discoloration & i when i went to the dentist he advised i had a root canal & a vaneer fitted. I have noticed that the tooth underneath the vaneer has started to turn black, is there anything i can do? Also i have noticed that the other tooth has now started to discolour like the other one did, is there anything i can do to stop this turning black as well? I have contemplated whitening but how will this affect if i have had a vaneer fitted?,

Is bump on gum connected to issue with root canal?

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010
Q.
I am in need of a root canal but I have not gotten it because of insurance. I will get it soon. I have noticed that I have a sizeable bump on the gum of that tooth that needs a root canal. I was wondering if it was connected to the need of a root canal. It has not gone down or anything.,
