Dear Dr Rob, i have had tooth rot running through my teeth for some years now.Subsequently i have lost a lot of teeth. Having visted the dentist 11/2/2011,another rotten touth has been found.I am on the n.h.s and have been told that it will not come under n.h.s funding and unless i want to pay for it it is not worth saving the tooth.I have been told it will be in the region of £300 ,i would like to try and save the tooth. Is the cost of route canal treatment this much? The dentist is worried also that the route canal will not work.I sure there is not much you can say but as i wil have to have denture i am concerned. Would it better to loose them slowly and then spend i dont know how much have permanent teeth fitted. Any thing you can tell me or advise me would be helpfull. Yours gratefully

Tuesday, February 8th, 2011I had a crown on my front tooth break off yesterday. Unfortunately, it broke the part of the tooth that was inside the crown so there is nothing to anchor the crown to. Dentist told me i have to have a bridge, which is OK, but I don’t understand why the root of the boken tooth has to be taken out. Why, as part of the bridge process, can’t the replacement tooth be glued to the root (like my temporary tooth currently is).

I am in massive pain after veneers, what should I do?
Tuesday, February 8th, 2011I had crown lengthening procedure on 10 teeth followed by 10 porcelain veneers. I researched at length my chosen dentist and spent 9 months preparing with him prior to surgery and preparations. My crown lengthening was fine. My horrific pain started after first preparation. I have been in constant pain since July. My final veneers were fitted 6 weeks ago and look great. I have taken neuron round the clock and can both eat/drink hot/cold or chew as the pressure is too painful. My dentist has x-rayed and varnished with no results. My whole upper set of teeth throb at night. He is suggested removing two molar veneers to explore as he believes there could be leakage and referred pain. I have lost all confidence and I am reluctant to allow any further work without a second opinion. Please help as I am absolutely terrified of a lifetime of this pain. I do not know what to do or who to consult as I thought I had chosen the most qualified person in my area. Yours in anticipation.
