I am 17 and have milk teeth that are soon to fall out, what are my options for replacement?

Tuesday, August 23rd, 2011
Q.

Hello,
I am 17 years old and am looking into getting porcelain veneers.

I currently have 2 milk teeth that are going to come out very soon and I was wondering if it could be possible to remove the milk teeth and have veneers put on? And if this is possible how long would I have to wait from my milk teeth being taken out to the point where i get my veneers on? As I dont really want to be left with gaps in my teeth, and if this is unavoidable I dont really want to wait that long with gaps.

Thank You,

I gag when my dentist takes impression, do I have any other options?

Friday, August 19th, 2011
Q.

Dear Dr Hughes, I have a missing tooth in my front lower jaw. I would like to have this replaced but from experience have been unable to accept the impressions phase – I have a plate for the upper teeth, the impressions were done while I was put to sleep – this is not available to me where I live – I am 66 years old. Any advice you can offer me would be very much appreciated.

What are the long term effects of a sinus lift?

Thursday, August 18th, 2011
Q.

What type of long term effects can/should be expected with a sinus lift? I am looking at getting 6 implants in my top jaw (3 right side & 3 left) & was informed by my dentist today that I would have to have a sinus lift in order to accomplish this. I’m not worried about the surgury itself, but I am concerned if there are any long term affects to my sinus or possibly even tear ducts. I already have seasonal allergies and usually plenty of sinus pressure all year long.

Can my son be treated by a cosmetic dentist, or will he have to go to a hospital?

Monday, August 1st, 2011
Q.

My son was told that he could have dental implants to replace the 3 teeth, two dead and one lost, (which he damaged when he was 13) when he was fully grown at 18. Because his jaw also got damaged in this accident, he was told he would possibly need a bone transplant.

My question is, can a cosmetic dentist deal with this, or does this require hospital treatment? And how does this affect the overall cost?

How much would it cost to replace my two front teeth?

Thursday, July 21st, 2011
Q.

I have just left the royal marines after 8 yrs of service. During my time i had two of my front teeth knocked out. I was given a plate to wear but do not like the feeling of it in my mouth. I was told that to have implants i would need bone putting back in my gum first. Im just wondering what sort of cost this would be as i can not go on looking like this as im only 28.
Cheers for your help

How much would it cost to get my implants replaced?

Wednesday, July 13th, 2011
Q.

Thinking of having the whole of my top teeth replaced my implants could you give me any idea of the total cost of this or is it possible to have a few done at a time. Is there any reasons why I may not be able to have them. I have a very old bridge at the moment which I have recently had repaired but this is very temporary so I need to make a decision soon as I am unable to eat anything hard to cause it to break again which I am very worried about. Dentures are not a option for me. How long a process is it for the implants to be complete?

Jane

Who’s the best dentist to fix my teeth?

Wednesday, July 13th, 2011
Q.

Dear Dr.Hughes,
I had a bad accident whilst  I was living abroad for a short while at the end of last year. As a result I received problems such as fractured roots to some top teeth, I also had to have a bridge removed and teeth implanted which Im not currently happy with. Two other teeth top left hand side are now badly abscessed which means in me being in a lot of constant pain, in result I have been told that these teeth may need to be removed. But as I am a Flight Attendant and we are not allowed to wear dentures leaving my only choice as implants. Although luckily Denplan have told me they will pay for all treatment including more implants but I cannot find the right dentist for me. Please can you help me.

How much is it fro implants on my 4 missing teeth?

Tuesday, July 12th, 2011
Q.

Hello,

I have recently been told that I need to have a 2 implants fixed for four of my missing teeth. But to be honest I agree with my dentist as I have had a four tooth metal plate for a long time now. I am 50 years old. I went to a private specialist a few weeks ago and have been quoted for placement of two implants at £1,900 and £180 for extraction of broken canine.

In addition the cost for a four unit porcelain bridge is £3,600. In total this comes to £5,580 – which feels a lot for me and is slightly more than what I was expecting to pay. I would like to know if this sounds about right in your opinion?

Many thanks
