Friday, December 23rd, 2011
Q.

Hi Dr. Bohara. I need some advice please. I have extremely sensitive teeth and my gums are receding. I am a diabetic also. My teeth at the back of the top and bottom of my mouth are very sore. Especially when I eat. So painful i need painkillers. I have several teeth missing at the back of my mouth at the top and bottom and sometimes when the pain is so bad i feel like i could pull them all out. Two of my teeth at the front lower jaw have very severly gum recession and are a little loose. Could you please advise me on any treatment. I currently receive free nhs treatment. Any advice would be much appreciated.

I have had veneers for 4 years but am now suffering from gingivitis, what can I do?

Friday, November 4th, 2011
Q.

i had veneers placed on my top 8 teeth almost 4 years ago as a cosmetic solution to missing teeth and gaps. I did not need any veneers on my lower teeth as only my upper teeth were visible when i smiled. Now, less than 4 years on, when i smile you can see my lower teeth which means i no longer have that elusive hollywood smile, and i am experiencing gingival problems only on the area where my veneers have been placed so that my gums are visible on top and in between my veneers. My dentist says i need to have my veneers removed and only if advised after a suitable period of time can they be replaced. But what does this mean? I know a lot of tooth structure was removed in order for me to have veneers, i don’t want to have my veneers removed as i have hardly any teeth remaining underneath. and if it is unadvisable to have my veneers replaced does this mean i will forever have no teeth? Please help as i’m losing my mind here over this!

Thursday, October 6th, 2011
Q.

I have Gintivitis at the front of my teeth. Its a large prutruding gum that almost covers my front tooth and i have a very large gap. I dont know what to or where to go for help. its really stressing me as i’ve never been able to smile and i need to. I’ve had this horrible gum since i was a child, and I’ve never onced smiled because i cant and it looks ugly like a piece of chewing gum! I find it hard sometimes to cope with promblem even more when I go in public as people always assume that I’m moody or sad and its annoying all the time. I’ve been searching the net hoping for some answers, you may not be able to help me but I thought I’ll ask as i’m very desperate to smile. it hurts that I cant and i’m afraid that i may never be able to do the one thing thats suppose to come natural to us all. i would be greatful if you could help me or guide me on my next step. Thank you very much for taking time to read my question, I hope to hear from you very soon.

I have severe periodontitis and wanted to know the best replacement treatment for my teeth.

Wednesday, October 5th, 2011
Q.

Please could you advise me i am so worried and although i know the situation is terrible some sound advice would at least help me to rest. I have aggressive periodontitis. With the result that i am only 34 and my bone loss is so sever on my front bottom teeth that my dentist said that i won’t them for much longer. I have moved around a lot in my life and seen different dentists and therefore not been under the care of one. This dentist said she will refer me to the hospital after my next hygienist visit but this will be in three months time. Meanwhile she said that there is nothing i can do but wait for my teeth to fall out (aside of course from impeccable hygiene).

My question is this. Would it be better to have my teeth pulled out to preserve any bone that remains. And is it possible if the bone loss is so severe that i may not be able to have dentures? This is my worst nightmare.
I have researched online and would like to know if periodontal laser therapy might be an option.

I do appreciate how busy you are but would so greatly appreciate any advice you are able to give me.
P.S I currently get help with NHS costs as although iam a professional I am a single parent. Thank you so much for taking the time to respond.

My straight teeth are now crossed over due to gum disease, what can I do?

Tuesday, August 23rd, 2011
Q.

Hello Dr Bohara, My teeth which were once straight have moved, the front ones now crossover and their is a gap further back on either ide which is visible when I smile and where the teeth have moved forward and my dentist tells me that this is because I have bone loss and also an element of gum disease. It is difficult to clean my teeth properly now, also difficuilt to eat as I am not used to my teeth as they are.,biting an apple is impossible and I often bite my lip.
Can anything be done to correct this and make me confident to smile again? I am 59 years of age.

Thursday, August 18th, 2011
Q.

hello,

A part of my gums have gone black and have teared away from my tooth. it is hanging on by a small part and bleeds whenever I touch it. It does not hurt but is very noticeable and annoying to say the least. The part that is black is numb and I sam thinking of cutting it to get rid of it as I am very conscious of this. I do have gum disease I know this and have not been to the dentist for many years and a few of my teeth have broken. I am finding it difficult to find the courage to go to a dentist because I am embarrased by the way I have neglected my teeth but I am geting to a point where I dont think I have much time left to correct or help the problem, I would very much like your opinnion on whst I should do next.

Many thanks

My teeth are gapped and my gums bleed regularly, what are my options for treatment?

Tuesday, August 16th, 2011
Q.

Hi Dr.

I am not comfortable with my dental arrangement. The teeth on my lower jaw, talking about the front part, are not align properly with about two-tooth size gaps in between. The gum in the the same part seem to have worn out a bit but that has been the case since childhood and are always bleed when I brush my teeth

This causes me a lot of embarrassment especially have to give a presentation, etc. Is there a solution to this problem. Please help me. Thank you
