Are dentures the only option to fix my teeth? I don’t want dentures as I am only 35!

Monday, October 11th, 2010
Q.
Hi. I have had problems with my teeth for many years. It all started when I went to my dentist when I was about 14 with crooked teeth at the front. My parents were advised that my back teeth were not strong enough for the type of braces that were available then and he said my teeth would straighten up when I got older. Bad dentist. I am now 35 and have many problems with my teeth and its just getting worse. I dont drink or take drugs, I work hard and clean my teeth as well as I can but with the problems I have its just getting worse. I now have some missing teeth, underbite and many more problems. I would love to be able to smile again without feeling ashamed. The price for sorting out my teeth is totally unaffordable. I dont earn enough to get the financing from the dentist. I cant get any help with that either. My only option is to go for dentures which I really dont want at 35 ! Do I have any other choices ?I would be very grateful for any advice you may have.,

My husband has tried dentures but has a fear of gagging. Is there any way he can get implants for missing teeth?

Monday, October 11th, 2010
Q.
My partner has been without teeth at all for the past 10 years, he has tried using dentures but has a phobia of gagging and cannot stand the stress of the appointments. He has social anxiety disorder and agrophobia brought on by his low self esteem due to having no teeth. He is 36 years old would he be eligible for treatment on the NHS. I have checked the schooling websites and they do not offer implants. He feels that implants would be the only way to get teeth and be able to get his life back on track. Thanks.,

I am moving to Australia in 4 months and want my gapped teeth that stick out sorted beforehand, and whitening. Is this feasible?

Monday, October 11th, 2010
Q.
Hi rob, Im 28 and live in the uk but im moving to australia in about 4 months and want to get my teeth sorted out before i go and would like your advice and an idea on costs please. my teeth are in quite a bad way and i hate my smile. my front 2 teeth stick out and i have a gap on my tooth at the side of my front one. I think if i have the top 4 at the front of my mouth replaced and then my teeth whitened then i think it would improve my smile . Im not looking for a hollywood smile but i do want them to improve my confidence and look good at the best price possible. my front 2 teeth that stick out and i want replaced are caps that i had when i was younger due to an accident. They have started to come away from the gum and look old now.,

Would the Inman aligner or a six-month smile treatment be suitable for my teeth?

Monday, October 4th, 2010
Q.
Hi, My two upper front teeth point out and are starting to overlap and the teeth next to them are tucked behind them. Do you think 6 month smiles or The Inman aligner would work for me? I have looked at lots of before and after photo’s and most of the examples aren’t as bad as my teeth! The nearest dentists that offer these treatments are a long drive away and charge huge consultation fees so I would like to have an idea of whether these treatments are viable before i take the plunge! Thank you,

My crown is still feeling unnatural after two months. Is this normal?

Monday, October 4th, 2010
Q.
Hello Doctor, Tooth number 13 had some decay which caused it to crack and lose structure. A local dentist had performed a post and crown procedure. Problem is that the crown still feels unnatural after nearly 2 months. Cosmetically it looks great, however I can feel it rub on the inside of my cheek and is very distracting. Is this considered normal?,
