I want white crowns to the level celebrities have for the prettiest smile, but my dentists thinks this will look artificial. Can you advise?.

Q.
Hi. I’m getting all my front top teeth crowns replaced. I had them for 10 years and they are very yellow. I want to go with the whitest shade available, the bleeched white, but my dentist convinced me that it’s gonna look artificial and B1 will look the best. what would you advice? should i go with B1 or just go to another dentist that will do a whiter color crowns for me? what will be the shade that celebrities go for to get the prettiest smile? thank you very much,

Dentist said he cannot build up implants enough to provide enough lip support. I have not been back since. What should I do?

Thursday, October 28th, 2010
Q.
Hi I was due to have implants approx 18 month ago. Full implant held denture for the lower and individual implants onthe top. The top partial denture I have now is built up at the front for lip support but after having all my impressions the dentist said that he cannot build up the implants enough to give enough lip support. This meant a full denture for the top which I must say I panicked about and haven’t been back since. I now need to look at my options again and may need to find another dentist. I was wondering how much the implants can be safely built up in this situation? Thanks,

NHS dentist said they won’t give my brother braces as they only overlap by 3mm. Is this true?

Thursday, October 28th, 2010
Q.
Recently my brother has been to the orthodontist to have his teeth assessed as they overlap throughout his mouth. He has been told by them that he does not qualify for braces on the NHS as they only overlap by 3mm?? Although he is 14years old. I have read on the NHS website that you can still qualify for free braces if your teeth and 4mm or under? Is this true?,

My teeth are in a bad state after accident playing cricket. Could I get my lower teeth capped so they don’t protrude?

Wednesday, October 27th, 2010
Q.
Hello Many years ago I had my front four teeth skittled by a cricket ball, which resulted in me having to wear a gum stripper plate. Also the two teeth either side have been capped. My bottom teeth have started to protrude over the years, which has ment that the upper plate teeth has been adjusted also. End result is a very unhappy me, with unsightly smile. I think the best course is to get the lower teeth all capped so they dont protrude, then either a bridge built over the top front gum (possible couple of inplants) ? Is this feesable? Many thanks ,

Would I be able to get veneers to make my previously shaved down canine tooth look normal?

Wednesday, October 27th, 2010
Q.
Dear Dr Tennet, when I was younger my dentist filed down my canine teeth (lord knows why but I was around 8 at the time and didn’t think to ask) and now I am left with what can only be described as flat canines. You have probably been asked this question a few times by various people but would it be possible to get veneers or similar in a fang esque shape? Not anything ridiculous or enormous but still something a little out of the ordinary. I would ask my regular dentist but I have a feeling he may judge me too prematurely! I live in the Brighton area, if this procedure is feasible would you know of any dentists that might carry out such a thing? Thank you very much. Kind Regards, ,

I am considering a smile makeover but my main aim is to make my teeth look bigger. Can you recommend treatment?

Monday, October 25th, 2010
Q.
Hi Dr, I’m considering a ‘smile makeover’. My problem is that my teeth are quite small. There are no gaps or noticeable deficiencies (structure etc is fine) but very small dents and prominent fangs. Is there a way of making the teeth look bigger and would it be better to get full lumineers or a smile makover which included bonding, whitening and reshaping? Many thanks.,
