I had a dental bridge after an accident and I an not happy with the work can i do anything to correct my smile ?

Thursday, January 31st, 2008
Q.
Three and a half years ago I had a bridge fitted to my front 6 toop teeth. I haven’t been happy with the work but never dared complain about the work done as it was a reconstruction after a accident. The teeth are not straight and run upwards towards the right side. My tounge shows more than it should and I don’t smile in photo’s because I don’t like my smile. Could anything be done to correct my smile? L

I dont want a mouth full of metal …do clear braces work as well?

Thursday, January 31st, 2008
Q.
Dear Dr Patel, I was offered braces as a teenages as i have ‘fangs’ on my top row of teeth and a very uneven bottom set, but told by an orthodontist I didn’t really need them. My regular dentist has never let this go however, and I am starting to agree. I am 21 and don’t want to have a mouth full of metal when I finish Uni and apply for city based jobs in London. The gaps between my top and bottom rows are too noticable to me in photos though and I would like to do something about them. I have read about the clear braces that are like a thin mouthgard and also about the traintracks that fit around the back of the teeth. But do these actually work as well and are they, along with the regular check ups, hidiously expensive? Thanks!

I have crooked teeth and baby milk teeth is my case too severe for Invislign I dont want metal braces or could I have full Veneers?

Thursday, January 31st, 2008
Q.
Hi Dr Patel. I am a 20 year old woman and am serverely distressed at the state of my teeth. I have very overcrowded teeth on the bottom rown, and at the top I have incisors either side of the middle 4 which are high above the level of the other teeth, along with this I also have 2 ‘milk teeth’ which are sitting behind new teeth which have never fallen out! I work in a very social position and do not wish to have a mouth of metal braces to be seen for all. I have read up about invisalign and am v interested in it , and am just not sure whether my case is too severe!!I would if not consider full cosmetic veneers, but again I am not sure whether the only option I have will be wire braces. please help.

Dental veneers for straight teeth ?

Wednesday, January 30th, 2008
Q.
Dear Dr Riten Patel,
Hello, I am just planning on getting Veneers. I am 18 years of age, and my teeth are really getting to me. There in no disgusting state, well actually far from it. But the idea of having straight teeth is just amazing. Especially being in the performing industry. I have been knocked back for a few jobs because of my teeth. And sometimes not gone to auditions because of them. If you could help. Would be amazing.

I want a smile makeover which dental vaneers are best …lumineers, Mac vaneers….how much will my new smile cost?

Wednesday, January 30th, 2008
Q.
Hi Dr Riten, having looked at your website I see that you are the nearest expert to me I live in Kingston. I wonder if you can help me. I am 45 and recently divorced I have just got my settlement and have decided that its about time I spent some money on myself and I have always been aware that my smile lets me down. I dont want a “hollywood smile” but I want a “new smile” I think i need teeth vaneers or porcelain vaneers my teeth are quite yellow and the bottom teeth are shorter than they should be, my regular dentist tells me its because i grind my teeth. I know for a smile makeover I need to see a cosmetic dentist for a good result. I have read a lot about different types of vaneers and the lumineers appeal to me because i dont want to have a lot of my teeth chopped off and these dont require that. Would you recommend lumineers vaneers ? or are there better vaneers like mac vaneers which are made in America? It seems that America have much better vaneers than here from looking on various websites and I really want the best, can you get these american vaneers in the UK? Also can you give me an idea how much my new smile would cost me I have about 20 thousand in savings and could possibly put the rest on a finance plan if it was more but I would like a ball park figure so that I can sort out my finances. I think i would need vaneers on all my teeth as i do not see the point in only doing the ones at the front or a few on the top I want my smile to look great from every angle. Thankyou for your time. Can you put lumineers over old white fillings on two front teeth ?

Wednesday, January 30th, 2008
Q.
Dear Doctor! Hello! I have a long lasting problem with my up front teeth. I changed the filling on them already 4 times, cause its always changing its colour. Can you, please, tell me if i can put lumeneer right on the filling or all the filling has to be removed? Every time i was changing the filling, teeth structure was removed as well, so, without filling i have a big space now. Thank you very much. S
