Whitening has not removed white and yellow blotches on my teeth, what will?

Thursday, February 17th, 2011
Q.

Hi Mark

I have some moderate marks on my front four top teeth. From what I’ve read online I believe that these are a mix of decalcification marks (chalky white marks at the front of the teeth) and fluorosis (a small yellow mark which appears to be further back in the tooth immediately left of centre).

I recently had laser whitening done on my teeth and was hoping the treatment would decrease the appearance of these unsightly marks. However while it whitened the rest of my teeth to the lightest colour on the Vita shade guide, the marks remain prominent and noticeable when I smile.

I’m wondering what to do now because I’m a model and have been told by my boss to get this sorted. I understand that a process called microabrasion can be used to remove the marks from the teeth but that this doesn’t work on marks that are deeper inside. I also understand that veneers are an option but relatively expensive.

I would very much appreciate it if you could get back to me and clarify what my options are and the financial implications.

Thank you for your time.

Tuesday, February 8th, 2011
Q.

hi,I have yellow bad teeth, had a cheap whitening done a year ago now my teeth are back more yellow than before.I was just wondering if there is another efficient way of whitening in front and back of my teeth? because the one I had was with laser but only outside the teeth not the inside or back of the teeth.and do you whiten all my teeth or just the front teeth? and would like to know about the prices because I am a student and have a tight budget and I would like to have an estimation of how much he could cost me for a full teeth whitening and front teeth makeovers?I would be very grateful if you could help me with my concerns because this problems is affecting my life.thank you

My teeth are discoloured and I have no confidence, can you help?

Tuesday, February 8th, 2011
Q.

Hi i am 30 years young and have suffered with discoloured teeth since my adult teeth grew. I was told that this was due to a high dose of penicilin due to having chickon pox as a child. All through my life my teeth have ruled me. I am often thought to be a miserable person due to my inability to smile just incase i show my teeth. I have had extensive work over the years and 4 yrs ago was given the news i had been waiting for over 20 years for – I could have veneers. This was on the basis that i paid for the structural work (even having a operation where i was put to sleep). I worked hard and paid for all my fillings to be replaced with white fillings and the weekly draining of the tooth i would eventually have the operation on. My dreams had come true – I was going to have a smile :) But once i had the structural work done and some whitening i was informed that the dentist who had agreed to my veneers was no longer willing to work any more on my teeth! i was distraught to say the least. I am writing to you to ask if you know of a way i can now get help in the final process. Due to changes in circumstances i am now a student and cannot afford any work on my teeth and i am scared the money i have paid out is a waste. Having to start a new path in life is hard enough but when your first thought on meeting new people is ” i hope they dont look at my teeth” i know they are literally ruling my life. I am not a person to ask for anything but i wish i could get some good advice as to what i can do. Please help me as my confidence is at rock bottom. Again i will say this is not a begging letter but after 20 odd yrs of thinking about it every day i felt i had to make contact with someone.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Is Nite White teeth whitening popular?

Tuesday, February 8th, 2011
Q.

I have had teeth whitening treatment done with Nite White acp, (home trays) having been told this had best results in the trials. I am a little disappointed with the results as I was expecting a brighter smile. It was expensive to not get the results I’d hoped for. Is Nite White acp a popular choice or not?

I have been using a home-whitening kit, but it isn’t working anymore, why could this be?

Wednesday, February 2nd, 2011
Q.

Once a year I bleach my front teeth with “Crest Whitestrips Supreme” (14% Hydrogen peroxide)

Recently, about 2 weeks ago I began to start my annual 3 week course of whitening.
At first it seemed to be oxidising the stains rather quickly and after 5 days I noticed a significant improvement.

Then, I read on the net that also using 3% Hydrogen Peroxide mouthwash can help.
I used it a few times but then I stopped because it seemed like my teeth had reverted back to how they appeared at the start of the process, i.e stained and slightly yellowish.

Anyways, I disposed the bottles of Hydrogen Peroxide solution and I am going to continue with the Crest Whitestrips.
I was wondering, what may of happened? Why did my teeth look significantly whiter and then suddenly revert back to a stained appearance?
Did the Hydrogen Peroxide solution cause this?

I tend to stay away from acidic drinks and I am a non drinker and non smoker, I use Sensodyne Pronamel toothpaste & Mouthwash.
However, I did drink a few pints of pure orange last week and I wondered if the the peroxide had made them more porous to stains?
Also, is it okay to use mouthwash right after bleaching?

Any help/advice is appreciated.

Thanks in advanced
