I have a small black gap between my teeth do i need teeth whitening I also have wonky teeth

Friday, February 1st, 2008
Q.
Hi, i was considering getting my teeth whitened, they’re not too bad but I would like to have just normal teeth, but also I have a small black gap in between two of my teeth but i I dont know what I would need to do to sort it out, and also I have one tooth which is wonky and sticks out a bit. so im not sure what exactly it is that I need to get done so I can have “normal” teeth. Would it be possible for me to send in a photo, so you can see exactly whats wrong with my teeth and perhaps make a suggestion on what I should do, for example, whitening, veneers etc. Thanks R

Can lumineers be fitted over crowns by a London dentist

Friday, February 1st, 2008
Q.
According to the lumineers page on your website it states that lumineers can be fitted over crowned teeth – however one of your panel had told someone that this could not be done and they would have to have new crowns. I am interested in lumineers since they would solve my problem of stained slightly crooked teeth all in one. I only have two crowns and not that much money. Previously I had thought about getting clear braces and then spending out on whitening treatments etc – but this system seems so much better espeically since the dark part of the crown seems to be showing through. Would you still recommend lumineers in my case? And if so would I be better seeing an experienced London dentist rather than going to my local dentist (who is on your list but did not mention this nor even clear braces until I specifically made the point – I don’t think they are very “into” this type of thing. I would welcome your response. Thanks.

prominent gaps between front teeth, chipped teeth a cap and pertrified of dentist

Friday, February 1st, 2008
Q.
Hi there, since I was a child I’ve had prominent gaps between my 4 front teeth and still have 2 of my baby teeth which I think are my cuspids. However I had root canal treatment on one of these teeth as the tooth was rotten. The dentist however done a botchy job and now the tooth has discoloured – mind you it probably doesn’t help that I smoke. Also, when I was 12 I chipped my front tooth and have had a cap on it ever since. I’m now 28 and would like to get these done, but I’m petrified of dentists hence the reason leaving it so long. If you could please help I’d be most grateful. I hate my smile and have low confidence because of my teeth. Kind regards, N

Veneers, whitening and invisalign…for crooked stained teeth ?

Thursday, January 31st, 2008
Q.
Dear Dr Solanki, I have a few problems with my teeth that have bothered me for years, I am so embarrassed to smile as my teeth look so awful, I think about my teeth all the time there is not a minute that goes by in the day that I don’t think about them. My teeth are very brown and stained (I think because of excessive smoking and my love for Indian food! Have at least 3 curries a week) even though I brush them twice a day, I have tried whitening toothpastes but they don’t make any difference. My teeth are also crooked and my front teeth stick out a bit. I haven’t seen a dentist in the last 5 years (I know its bad!) and I have some savings to pay for my treatment, do you offer payment plans where I can spread the payments out, as I do not think I could afford paying for it in one lump sum, do you have any idea how much this treatment will cost.

Many thanks for taking the time to read this in advance

I want a smile madeover for protruding teeth

Thursday, January 31st, 2008
Q.
Dear Dr Solanki, Hello I am interested in having my smile ‘madeover’ I currently have quite large, protuding front teeth. I visited an Orthodontist regularly as a child but was told my lower jaw was too small and it would grow. It has but, at 20, I am still not happy with the appearance of my smile. Is there anything you would be able to do to help?

My crowns and veneers have discoloured what can i do?

Thursday, January 31st, 2008
Q.
Hello dr kaliesh, In March of this year I had extensive cosmetic work to my teeth (17 teeth in all) including veneers. crowns and 1 bridge. I asked my dentist for a white Hollywood smile. Already the veneers are discolouring (particularly the lower ones) and there is becoming a difference in colour between the veneers and crowns. They were all the same colour when fitted. My dentist said this is due to the different materials used in the crowns and veneers. This was not explained to me at the time. My dentist says that people don”t look that closley anyway but surely that is not the point. This work cost me a substantial amount of money – what can I do. My Dentist is a great dentist but I am worried that maybe he was out of his depth with my substantial dental cosmetic makeover.

What is the best procedure to close a gap between my teeth?

Thursday, January 31st, 2008
Q.
Dr Solanki, I have gum disease due to illness as a child and prolonged use of penicillin, I have treatment for this but it doesn’t seem to work that well and I now have a pronounced gap between my front two teeth. Please can you tell me what procedure is best to close or fill the gap and give me back my confidence and smile.
F.

What can be done to make my smile bigger ? ….veneers or orthodontics

Thursday, January 31st, 2008
Q.
Hi, My main concern with my smile is that my mouth seems very small and when i smile you cant see my teeth as my lips cover them. Is it possible to get a more prominent smile or a “bigger smile” so my teeth show more? Many thanks G.T.
