I Want Straight And Attractive Teeth, What Is The Best Option For Me?

Wednesday, September 25th, 2013
Q.

Hi there, Dr Shaffie. I have had to google the names of each tooth so please bare with me haha. Basically, my upper right lateral incisor grew in behind the front row and so I had it removed, but now both my upper central incisor, left lateral incisor and both canine teeth are all crooked. My question is what would be my best option here and at what price would you estimate? Basically I would like to end up with 6 upper front teeth (including the tooth that was removed) looking straight and attractive as possible, thank you. I really hope you can get back to me.

I Want To Know What I Should Do Next, Regarding The Gaps In My Teeth?

Monday, September 23rd, 2013
Q.

Hi, Dr Mark
I recently closed my 3.5mm front teeth gap with Orthofill band. But now I have gap in each side and am still wearing the band to close the two sides but I know it will create another gap again, so I was wondering what would be the best treatment for me to keep the front teeth closed as well as closing the side gaps. I’ve also heard that bonding can be good but I wasn’t sure if it’s the right treatment for me. Two years ago I paid for Inman braces which I ended up not wearing because I wasn’t aware it was 3D until I received the braces. The dentist didn’t show me the sample at the time so that was a complete waist of money.
The Orthofill band was my last option before I considered doing Invisalign but gladly the band did work but now am stuck as to what the next step should be to finish of the process.
Thank you so much for your time.

Hi, I’d Like A Rough Guide On How Much It Would Cost To Get Invisalign Braces Fitted?

Friday, September 20th, 2013
Q.

Hi I’m just inquiring about a price for invisalign braces for my top and bottom teeth as my two front teeth stick out a touch and my two bottom teeth cross over. I recently went for a consultation and the dentist told me that I would be a suitable candidate for the invisalign braces and would need to keep them on for about 12 months but that dentist was really expensive so if you could please give me a rough idea of how much it will cost for the treatment from you. Thanks.

Hi, I Was Wondering Whether Braces Can Be Placed Over A Maryland Bridge?

Thursday, September 5th, 2013
Q.

Hello, I was wondering if you could help me? When I was 12 I had braces to open up a space. This space had to be opened up in order to compensate for my missing lateral incisors which had to be replaced with dental implants. Now I am 18 and have been told there is not enough space in the roots to place the actual dental implant and I have been advised to have even more orthodontic treatment, I am just wondering if the braces can be placed over the Maryland bridge I currently have and also how long it would take to open up roughly 4mm of space for dental implants to be placed? Any response will be greatly received, thank you.

Is There An Alternative To Breaking The Jaw To Fix A Gummy Smile?

Thursday, September 5th, 2013
Q.

Hi, the problem that I would like to to discuss is that I have quite a high smile line, where, if I smile too much my gums show and I’m a little self-concious about it. I was told by my dentist when I was younger and given a brace, that I could have my jaw broke and fixed to sort the problem out, however I didn’t much like the sound of that as you can imagine. However my friend has recently had it done and her smile line looks much better. I am now 21 years old and was wondering if you had an alternative option for a procedure such as this? Many thanks

and kind regards.

I’d Like Straight Teeth But I’m Not Sure About Braces, What About This New Aerodentis Treatment?

Tuesday, September 3rd, 2013
Q.

Hi, I was just wondering if you have ever heard of Aerodentis? I would like to have straight teeth but really do not want to get a brace! I have been looking at lingual braces but I’m not sure I could afford them. Also the inman aligner, which is much more affordable but still not really suitable! I’ve read that it’s quite bulky and I don’t think I would have the confidence to wear it whilst at work or generally out and about. Aerodentis looks like a really good option but there’s very little information about it online! I would just like to know if it works, the overall length of treatment and how much it costs and if you have ever come across it before? Thanks, this would really help me.

I Love The Way My New Plate Looks, But It’s Given Me A Lisp. Can They Change It’s Shape?

Friday, August 30th, 2013
Q.

Hello, I want to tell you that I had top replacement plate made because my first plate was nine years old and I thought it was time to get a second one in case something happened to the only plate I had. Well, the new plate looks beautiful, but I now have a lisp. To me it seems like the palate is too deep on this plate. It is much deeper on this plate than on my other one. Do you know if they can alter the plate somehow? Is this a question a lot of people ask? I really do love the way my new plate looks, I just hate the lisp that it has given me. They advised that I try it and see if it goes away. What do they do to try and resolve this?

Any help you can give me is much appreciated.

Thank you.

I’m 21-Years-Old, Can The NHS Help Close The Gaps In My Teeth?

Monday, August 12th, 2013
Q.

Hi, I am 21 year old female and I have always had gappy teeth for as long as i can remember, and because of this i spend most of my time trying to hide them.I rarely have them on show or smile in pictures. It has been a problem for years and I feel as I am getting older it is preventing me from doing a lot I things. I was wondering if this is something which generally has to be paid for in full or something which the the NHS could help with? I never received any braces as a youngster as they were never given to me as an option and I’m desperate to sort them out now, I’m getting older and just want a nice smile. I’m not asking for much am I? Thank you for your time, I really hope you can suggest something for me.

I Have Been Bullied For Years Because I Have A Large Chin, Please Help!

Friday, August 9th, 2013
Q.

Hi, I’m 32 years old and have suffered with real confidence issues since my school days due to a large chin I’ve been called every name under the sun. School was horrible, I would literally walk through the gates and be called the most awful things and this continued outside of it too. It has since made me feel very self conscious and as a result I’m a very introvert person and don’t say two words to anyone for fear that they’ll start mocking me too. I just wish I had heard about jaw surgery before I also have very crowded teeth and an overbite which also doesn’t help, looking back this is something I definitely feel should have been an option for me when I was younger

What would be my options now and who should I speak to about it?
Thanks

How Much Would The Inman Aligner Cost To Fix Two Front Teeth?

Thursday, August 1st, 2013
Q.

Hi Dr Moore. I was just wondering how much the Inman Aligner would cost to correct my two front teeth? My two front teeth are starting to move inward and creating a large gap between my teeth. I wanted to know if the invisalign or inman aligner would be more appropriate? The gap just started approximately 3 years ago and wasn’t sure what the cause was. I am obviously looking for the most cost effective option, but not worried about the length of time. I hope you can advise me something as I’m beginning to get really down with this issue now, as I said I don’t even know what caused it in the first place and I am not sure where to even begin. I’m in the London area anyway, if you could recommend someone that can help? Many thanks.
