Hello Dr Moore. My problem is that I have a overbite and it is quite big. When I was a child I went the orthodontist and he told me it was a very big overbite and would probably need my jaw broken. My two front teeth are very prominent compared to the others. Does this mean Invisalign would not work for me? I really don’t want the metal braces! Is there any other options? Like veneers? Based on the information I have given you can you take a rough estimate on how long it would take to fix my smile?
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Thank you for taking the time to listen.

I Was Told When Younger That I Would Need My Jaw Broken To Fix My Large Overbite. How Much Would It Now Cost To Fix My Smile?
Friday, October 25th, 2013I Have A Protruding Fang Which Bugs Me, Should I Have It Removed?
Wednesday, October 23rd, 2013Hi Dr Moore, as I’ve grown up, I was meant to have braces when I was younger but I didn’t because my mum neglected it, so I ended up with one protruding tooth on my top row, it looks like a fang which bugs me. After many years of feeling self-conscious about this, I would really like to see if there is a way I can get a relatively normal smile. It doesn’t have to be perfect, I just want the fang removed or something along those lines, please offer your advice and help me with this matter on what would possibly be the best course of action. Thanks.
I Had Braces As A Teenager, But Now My Teeth Are Misaligned Again. How Much Will I Be Looking At To Fix Them?
Monday, October 21st, 2013 Hi there Dr Hughes,
I had braces as a teenager but now aged Twenty-One, my two front teeth are misaligned again. My retainer no longer fits properly so that’s no use. Is there anything that can be done to straighten just the front two? How much would I be looking to pay roughly? They are not dramatically crooked but it bugs me. One of them is just slightly behind the other, so maybe only one of them has moved. The change would not be too dramatic but I would feel better. The rest of my teeth are reasonably straight.
Thanks, I hope you can help as I’m not sure how to go about it.
Hello, My Partner Recently Had A Procedure At The Orthodontic Clinic And He’s Still In Pain, Is This Normal?
Monday, October 21st, 2013Hello Dr Patel. I’d like to discuss how my partner got a procedure done at hospital at the orthodontics clinic nine days ago. They cut away a fair size, triangle shape from the hard palette. He is still in extreme pain which we don’t think is normal I contacted them on Tuesday and she looked at his mouth said it was fine. Could there be a nerve showing maybe that’s causing the pain? Just feel it’s not normal to be in just as much pain nine days on, he only had the normal dentist for the procedure to be carried out. What would you suggest that we do, is it normal? Thank you for your time.
My Teeth Are In Good Condition Except For My Right Lateral, What Treatment Is Best To Have It Repositioned?
Tuesday, October 8th, 2013 Hello Dr Hughes, I have my teeth in good condition except my upper right lateral. It’s much too far back from it’s line. I just feel bad about it and I always hate it because it ruins my smile. I am so very nervous just because of this one tooth. I want to fix it or have it repositioned. Could you kindly tell me how many types of treatments which can I fix that without braces. How much time it will take? How much will it cost? Please do reply me I am much tensed 🙁
Thanks.
How Much Does It Cost To Have Some Wire Bonding To Fix A Gap Opening Up, And Is This The Correct Procedure?
Monday, October 7th, 2013 Hi
I recently closed my 3.5mm wide front teeth gap with Orthofill band it only took me almost 2 months but now I have gap in each side so I start wearing the band for the four front teeth but I know it will create another gap eventually. Some one advised me to do small wire bonding for my two front teeth so they don’t re-open back but I haven’t got a clue how much it would cost me and with the other gaps I have do you think doing bonding can be the solution and if it is what sort of price am I looking? Thank you for taking your time out.
Can Tooth Grinding Cause The Misalignment Of Teeth? If So, How Would I Fix This Problem?
Monday, October 7th, 2013Hello, I am looking for an advice regarding teeth straightening. I have recently noticed that my teeth (front ones) are becoming slightly curved in appearance – they are not as straight (vertically) as they used to be. I am not sure if this is related to the teeth grinding problem I am going through at the moment, and can I also ask whether teeth grinding can affect teeth alignment? Can you please offer any advice regarding this matter as I’d like to fix this problem in the future. Many thanks.
How Much Will It Cost To Get Braces After I Graduate?
Monday, October 7th, 2013Hi Dr Hussein Shaffie. What I would like to discuss with you is that I had a brace for around about 2 -2 and a half years in my teenage years. A few years have passed since and I’m now 21 years old, and have noticed that one of my front teeth has begun to overlap the adjacent tooth (this was the structure prior to my brace). I’m currently a student at the moment and as you can imagine cannot afford to get it fixed but would like to in the future. Can you estimate how much this would cost based on my description?
Kind regards, I thank you in advance for any information you can provide me with this issue.
I Have A Young Son Who Has A Front Tooth Set To Come Through But The Gap Isn’t Big Enough. What Should I Do?
Thursday, October 3rd, 2013My son is 9 years old. His front right tooth has not come through yet and he has had the left one for about a year now. You can see the lump in his gum where his tooth is. I’m worried it may never come through. There isn’t a enough room for it. Should he not have a brace to make space. When he had his baby teeth he had an extra tooth between his front tooth and incisor was on the same side. Should I be worried about this or given his age will it sort itself out in due time? I could really use some help with this.
How Long Will It Take For Braces To Open Up A Gap For A Dental Implant To Be Fitted?
Tuesday, October 1st, 2013Hello there Dr Shaffie, when I was Twelve years old I had braces to open up a space. This space had to be opened up in order to compensate for my missing lateral incisors which had to be replaced with dental implants. Now I am Eighteen years old and have been told there is not enough space in the roots to place the actual dental implant and I have been advised to have even more orthodontic treatment, I am just wondering if I need the braces, then how long it would take to open up roughly 3/4mm of space for dental implants to be placed? Thanks, I really hope you can help me sort this problem out?
