I have twisted, crowded teeth and my teeth are moving what is the treatment cost?

Tuesday, February 19th, 2008
Q.
Hi, I basically have a cost question. I have a few issues with my teeth, nothing major but enough that I’m considering having them fixed. I can’t seem to find a cost-quote though, I’ve read a load of material but nothing with a price-list!.. Anyway, the problems I have are:

1) I have a twisted tooth on the lower jaw, it’s the one immediately to the right of my left incisor. It’s always been twisted so I was wondering if this was fix-able and also what the cost of doing it would be.

2) Again on the lower jaw, the second tooth from the left incisor has moved forward from the others, this has happened within the last 6months or so. It has always been slightly forward but it seems to have moved more recently. It has, however, set in place now so I was, again wondering if this was fix-able and also at what cost.

3) The most urgent problem I have is with my upper jaw, the tooth to the right of the “big2″ has moved behind the big2 somewhat. This happened pretty much overnight, perhaps due to sleeping on my arm. It felt sore for a while but then it seemed to set in place, then again a few weeks later I awoke to find it was sore once more. It has basically popped behind the “big2″ and the right incisor, so again, was wondering if this is fixable and at what cost.

Those are the three things I would like to have fixed if possible, and if you could provide me with a quote/ortho-reccomendation, I’d be more than grateful! Also, as a side-note, I’m 21 and male. And a general point is that I think my teeth may be a little “crowded” since they sometimes feel cramped and I’m guessing this is why the teeth have moved around, lack of space may be causing them to migrate!.. Anyway, thank you in advance for your time and response. It’s much appreciated and a big help. Kind Regards K

my canine is high do i need an extraction?

Sunday, February 10th, 2008
Q.
Dear Dr, I have relatively straight teeth apart from one canine which never quite had enough room to come down properly. I am 26 and now am ready to do something about it. Do u think extracting this tooth is the option? NB It is quite high in my mouth if this makes sense. Would I need braces aswell? Thanks R

I have a large genetic gap between my front teeth will invisalign work?

Sunday, February 10th, 2008
Q.
I have a large gap in-between my two front teeth. This gap is genetic, it runs in the family and while I don’t want to close the gap completely I would like to reduce the size of it. Would Invisalign be able to reduce the size of my gap?

I have crooked teeth and dont want veneers can I have invasalign or Inman Aligner?

Friday, February 1st, 2008
Q.
I am a 42 woman who takes pride in her appearance and am now just about able to afford some cosmetic dentistry. I had several extractions as a child to try to reduce overcrowding. I have a crooked tooth at the top front which I would like to correct plus uneven teeth ( about 4 teeth) at the bottom front. I don’t want porcelain veneers as I don’t like the idea of me losing my identity for a ‘perfect’ smile – I don’t want perfection, just to straighten my own, much loved but flawed teeth! I have heard of Inman Aligners and Invasalign but am nervous of taking that first step as I don’t like the idea of tampering with healthy teeth. Also I would be worried that improvements i.e. through braces, wouldn’t be permanent. Can you advise/reassure me?? Thanks R

i had tooth extractions and orthodontic treatment 10 years ago is it possible to open up the gaps again for dental implants?

Friday, February 1st, 2008
Q.
I had orthodontic treatment 10 years ago, and made it quite clear at the outset that I did not want extractions. The ass who treated me decided that as I was a child, and my treatment was being paid by the NHS, he would send me to have extractions anyway because my teeth were slow to move. So slow, in fact, that he had the audacity to accuse me of not wearing my headgear enough at a time when, unless I wanted to wear the wretched device to school, there were literally no more hours in the day I could be wearing it. The gaps in my upper jaw, 10 years later, are still open wide enough to insert my thumb nail. The front teeth in my bottom jaw are twisted and have worn in an odd pattern which enables then to goudge lumps from underneath my tongue if I do not pay attention while eating. I hate my teeth so much now that smiling open mouthed is something that does not happen. Ever. Would there be any way the gaps could be opened back up for dental implants, or even a bridge? I was so upset at having the teeth removed that I still have them at home. What can be done to fix my bottom jaw? Is it too late to get recourse against this man? I hate my teeth; I hate the man who did this to me; and I really hope you have some advice to offer because I literally cannot go on with my teeth in the state they are in.

Q.
Hi there, i was wondering about the inman aligner brace. does this work if you have front crowns already fitted on your teeth. i have protruding front teeth and wondered if these crowns get damaged in the process.

What are my options my teeth stick out ?

Thursday, January 31st, 2008
Q.
Hello Dr Riten, i wonder if you can help me with my problem. I have teeth that stick out a little bit and i am not sure what to do about them I have read there are a few different ways such as invisible braces inman aligner braces and veneers. I dont want one of these hollywood smiles because i think they just look too fake and so i want my smile to look natural but also good. Although finances are an issue the way I look at it is that every one i meet sees my teeth its more important than buying a new car and I believe you can now get your teeth done on finance just like when buying a new car? Thank you for time to read this. J.N.
