I’ve Been Diagnosed With Bone Loss And The Treatment They Have Given Me Has Had No Effect Over The Last Three Weeks. What Should My Next Step Be?
Monday, April 14th, 2014I am a 43 years old divorced mother of two and have been diagnosed with bone loss on the upper right and lower right of my face. I am being treated with chlorhexidine gluconate. I have been using this for 3 weeks now and have seen no improvement. I also suffer from graves disease. What should my next step be? The receding gums seem aggressive and this was not being treated at all by my dentist. He did my fillings and then the pains began – since January I’m now being treated by an orthodontist who assured that dentures will not be needed any time soon. Is it time to order veneers as my teeth are also discoloured and ugly. Please help. Your answers will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Do I Need Braces To Rectify My Jaw Alignment Problem Or Some Other Treatment?
Thursday, April 10th, 2014Hello Dr Moore. I hope that you can give me a helpful answer to my problem. Recently, I noticed that my lower jaw set are slightly shifting and coming in front of my top teeth. It irritates me while I’m eating or even smiling. Do I need to have braces so that the problem can be rectified or is it my jaw that is moving and not the teeth? I’m really concerned about the problem as I want it to be fixed soon. Please make me aware of the rectifying method. Is that is it my jaw that is moving? Or is it my teeth? Can it be treated, right? Thank you for your time.
Do I Have To Pay For Braces Treatment Now That I’m 18?
Monday, April 7th, 2014 Hi, I’m 18 and I just wanted to ask a few questions about braces.
I had braces when I was 12 and my teeth were perfect but my retainer snapped so it was really hard to wear it because it kept cutting my skin so I stopped wearing it so often. Now my teeth aren’t as straight as they were and I wondered if I could have any sort of brace for free or would I have to pay? I really don’t like my teeth anymore and occasionally I end up biting the sides of my cheeks with my teeth when I’m eating and it’s so sore.
Hope to hear from you soon, Thank you.
I’d Like To Straighten My Incisors. I Am Investigating Invisalign But I’d Like A Cheaper, Faster Alternative?
Monday, April 7th, 2014 Hello Dr Patel, I’d like your advice. Both my upper lateral incisors are set back about 0.5cm behind my front teeth. One sits on my lower incisor, the other just behind.
I had a removable brace as a teen, 10 years ago and after 2 years of diligently wearing it, I got told he may have made a mistake!
I would like to know what options I now have for correcting this? I am investigating Invisalign, but I’d like to know if there is a cheaper, faster alternative?
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I look forward to your reply.
My Daughter Has To Wait Till She’s 17 To Get Braces And I Can’t Afford To Go Private. What Should We Do?
Friday, April 4th, 2014Hello Dr Mark. My problem is that my daughter is massively insecure about her teeth, she stopped sucking her thumb at the age of 15 (it was a serious habit) in order to be on the waiting list for braces she has to wait until she was 17! Unfortunately I do not have the money to go private or I would, have you got any tips in helping me with this problem or any alternatives in her receiving braces any quicker without going private? I hope you can help us with this. Thank you in advance for any information and advice you can provide us with
Hello. I Would Like To Know How Long It Would Take To Open Up Roughly 4mm Of Space For Dental Implants To Be Placed?
Friday, April 4th, 2014Hello, I was wondering if you could help me? When I was younger I had braces to open up a space. This space had to be opened up in order to compensate for my missing lateral incisors which had to be replaced with dental implants. Now I am 18 and have been told there is not enough space in the roots to place the actual dental implant and I have been advised to have even more orthodontic treatment, I am just wondering how long it would take to open up roughly 3/4mm of space for dental implants to be placed? Any response will be greatly received. Thank you.

Could You Tell Me The Best Method For Stripping The Teeth, I’m Getting Invisalign And I Would Like To Know Which Way Is Safest?
Thursday, April 3rd, 2014Hi Dr Hughes. Could you tell me which method is better for teeth stripping, using a dental drill or having it done by hand with a diamond abrasive strip attached to a small piece of sheet metal? The same amount of enamel is to be stripped off my teeth, but I would like to know specifically which method will yield better results? I am trying to decide on an orthodontist to work on my teeth. I will be getting the Invisalign treatment. I look forward to your reply, thank you for your time.
