Can you provide more insight on 6 months braces?

Q. Dear Dr, I would be grateful if you would give me some advice. I am need t get braces to correct overcrowding on both the top and bottom teeth. I have had a consultation for 6 month braces. I am not sure whether to get them or to go for traditional braces. Have you had any dealings with 6 months braces? Would you recommend them?

A. I would always recommend traditional braces as the first choice of treatment. 6 months braces can only be used in specific cases which involve mild to moderate crowding of the front teeth.

My bottom teeth have slight curve Is braces needed?

Q. hi my teeth are generally straight at the top however at the bottom there is a slight curve, is this natural. The curve is towards the center of the mouth. are draces needed thankyou

A. hi many thanks for your email, if the teeth are striaght then no braces are not needed. the curve you describe is hard to visualise. hope this is helpful.

Could you advise on whether I will be able to straighten teeth after implants?

Q. I have been advised that I a lower molar needs to be extracted and replaced with an implant. Can you please advise whether I would still be able to wear braces to straighten the rest of my teeth when I have this implant? I mainly need to straigthen the upper teeth but have been advised that the lower teeth also need to be straightened to correct my bite.

A. hi many thanks for your email, as long as the orthodontist is consulted and is happy then there should not be a problem.

Do I have to wear a retainer after I take off my braces?

Q. Hey I have research about lingual braces and i am very interested in getting them… my question is do your teeth still move over time after the braces are taken off and do I have to wear a retainer after I take my braces off? Another question would be is that if I was to get lingual braces… is it possible to make payments by installments? Please get back to me

A. Thanks for your questions, as with most teeth straightening treatments, it would be recommended that you wear a retainer once your treatment is completed in order to prevent your teeth from moving back to their natural position. If you feel that you would not wear a removal retainer regularly, you may wish to consider a fixed retainer. Although payment options will vary between practices, many will have the facility to offer payment plans such as interest free credit to halp you spread the cost of your traetment.

A. Thanks for your questions. There are many teeth straightening products available, with some acheiving results in as little as six weeks and other which are virtually invisible. I would suggest that your first step should be to arrange a consultation appointment, either with an Orthodontist or a cosmetic dental practice which offer teeth straightening. There are many practices who will offer free initial consultations, to allow you to discover your options and the associated prices without any financial commitment. Many of these practices will also have the facility to ofer payment plans such as, interest free credit to help you spread the cost of the treatment. How much would six month smile and invisalign roughly cost?

Hi, i am 22 years old and had a traditional train track brace when i was 11, since then my one front tooth has slightlymoved forwards and my cainine teeth have moved upwards to there natural position and want to get them corrected, i dont have a high budget but have seen that the ‘6month smile’ is cheaper than the invisalign‘ how much do these roughly cost?, will the first consultation be free and do you do packages that include whitening?

A. Thanks for your enquiry, there are many straightening treatments available today, from systems which take as little as six weeks to acheive results to those which are virtually invisible. The costs for treatments which vary between systems and practices. However I can tell you that I am currently offering the Inman aligner, with whitening for £999 (for a limited period), but typically our costs for straightening start from around £1500. Many practices do offer a free initial consultation and will also have the facility to offer interest free credit to help spread the payments. I hope this helps.

Q. i am 29 and have just registered with a dentist after waiting for a few years,im interested in having a brace fitted as im starting to feel very wary of my teeth when i smile,Can it be done on nhs or will i have to go private? And at what cost?

A. Thanks for your questions, NHS Orthodontics treatment to adults is not usually available, however an enquiry to your local Primary Care Trust should be able to confirm this for you. There are many teeth straightening systems available privately, with some treatments taking as little as six weeks to acheive results and others which are virtually invisible. The costs for these treatments will vary between systems and practices, but I can tell you that straightening treatments at my practices start from £999. Many practices now have the facility to offer payment plans, such as interest free credit to help you spread the costs. I hope this helps.

Please suggest the type of braces or veneers for my uneven teeth

Hi im 30 years old and my upper and lower eye teeth on the left side sort of stick out, i assume there wasnt room for them when they came through so my top one is higher up then the rest of my teeth. Im not worried about the bottom as no one sees those teeth but it is getting me don when ever i look at pictures and see a horrid smile. What is the best option for me? Im not to keen on the idea of braces as im self conscious enough but maybe there is a better type of brace you could suggest than the traditional metal train tracks or would veneers be any good?

A. Invisalign may work well for you possibly in combination with veneers
