I have been attending a private practioner & after some gum contouring I have now been fitted with my permanent lava crowns x11. I have had other work done by the same dentist in the last year & have never been satisfied with the results, now after the final fitting I’m really unhappy I felt pressured into accepting them even though they were not made to my specifics i.e. too long & too narrow. She shortened the 2 front ones but the canines are different lengths & so are the premolars! Can they be shortened? & is it normal for all the front teeth to be a different colour to the back teeth? B1 & then from premolars back B2 she said this would look more natural!!!! But instead I look as if I have bad teeth to the side. Any advice would be appreciated.

I wanted some advice on the best procedure for correcting overexposure of gums (i.e. high lip line). I’ve read that this can either be corrected with gum contouring or via lip repositioning (or a procedure that limits the movement of the upper lip). I’m a lot less keen on the latter option but, in my opinion, I think that I have what might be called a moderate gummy smile.. I don’t know, a dentist would know best. I’d be happy to send you a photo to get your initial advice ahead of booking a consultation..
I wanted to know if you could explain a bit more about the different options and which would be best.
Could you also kindly tell me what the price range is for this?
Lastly, I have been living in London for year but am just about to move to Dubai for a couple of months, I will be back in the summer. If you could let me know how long the waiting list is, if there is one, I’d appreciate it.

Monday, May 9th, 2011hi there Dr Andrew Moore. can you please tell me how much it cost to sort out a gummy smile and, if you can, do you do surgries in birmingham uk?.thank you for this i am twenty years old no and i am currently weraing braces to straighten my teeth but when i smile i have the problem of a very large gummy smile .i have quite a long face if this makes any difference to your professional opinion in addition to thislso so this doesnt help i jus need some sort of guidence on what can bedone to hide this hideous train track mouth that i have it shatters me everytime i look in the mirror ta. hope you are well.

Is it possible to have my teeth straightened through what I think maybe gum disease.
Some have become loose and I had extensive work done when younger to straighten them, but they are out of alignment on the left side and two of my teeth on the bottom have fallen backwards
My gums bleed when brushing and I seem to be producing excessive saliva and it is all very uncomfortable and looks awful
Can you please advise?
I understand there is a procedure where the gums are actually lifted, the gums treated and teeth are put right whilst the gums are lifted – is there such a procedure available?
Can veneers be used to cover exposed root caused by gum recession?

I hope you have the time to answer it for me: My original teeth are already quite large and long, and I have redeeing gums and exposed roots in nearly all the upper front teeth. I also have quite a gummy smile so it shows every time I smile. My question is: Once receeding gums cause has been stopped and treated, can veneers be placed to cover also the exposed root? If so, and to avoid the veneered teeth looking too long, can the original tooth be shortened prior to veneer? Thanks and I hope you have a nice day!

I am 42 yrs old & have the worst teeth in the world !! !I live in Leeds West Yorkshire
I worked in horse racing when I was younger & had many falls, kicks to the face & horses heads smashing into mine..a number of occasions I know my teeth suffered terribly, I believe the front teeth top & bottom on many occasions were shunted & may have over time made air pockets round the roots. But I have to say that is no excuse. I have since the age of 9/10 yrs had a phobia of brushing !! Its hard to explain, I have tried hypnotherapy but I just can not brush, floss & gargle …. My mouth hygiene is none existant !! I tried for months seeing a hygienist weekly, but I came to the point where I no longer could afford the regular treatment. Plus it was a losing battle…I have 10-12mmm airpockets & all my teeth are very loose I have even lost one now on the bottom front row. I did have lovely teeth & smile when I was younger, my mouth was over crowded & had 4 second teeth removed & 10 baby teeth..the dentist Im afraid was known for his butchery & from that treatment me & teeth …well not a happy ending !! I only wish now I had looked after them so much better ! I have gaps now, receding gums they are just awful & I never smile, I hate my picture being taken & I have no confidence talking to people, especially strangers !! They are not painful, I have a little sensitivity but not to affect me eating or drinking hot or cold foods, but at the dentist blowing cold air or water then it gets me. But saying that I no longer go to the dentist now Im too embarrased at the state of my mouth, plus my phobia also includes dentist’s…Sorry, Please dont take that personal.
Now at the age of 42 yrs its come as the hardest ever decision to make, I must get my teeth sorted,, have a proper dentistry routine looking after….???Well….. What do you think I could do ??
Me & my husband have decided a bank loan will be taken …will I have to have all my teeth removed ? Maybe a chance of implants..?? Prob not, wont have any bone ?? Iam terrified I wont lie.
