I have 5 crowns in a bridge and one is cracked what do I do

Sunday, July 6th, 2008
Q.
I have the middle six top teeth cosmetically crowned recently. Five of them are joined as my bite is very bad. Today I have cracked one of the front ones, I have no idea how. Is it possible to repair this without the need to replace all the teeth as they are joined.

Dear Dr Komal Suri. I am a 48 year old woman and have two teeth missing on the upper top 5 and 6. i currently wear a denture plate which i detest. When I go out socialising i feel I have no confidence in talking to people male and female. I tried bridge work a couple of year ago but got a phobia with it and had to have it taken out. Since then I have worn a denture. Please help me.

I have lost a canine baby tooth which is hurting my confidence

Wednesday, July 2nd, 2008
Q.
I have recently lost a baby canine tooth ( the adult tooth remains unerrupted in my gum) and am finding wearing the temporary denture very uncomfortable. I have been told that a bridge is not possible as the tooth by the gap is fragile so need to explore other options. Would I be able to have an implant- what are the implications of the adult tooth still being there and approximately what cost ? This is having a real affect on my confidence so need to resolve it – any other suggestions would be gratefully received!

I am having a ten crown bridge for upper jaw. I think I want Procera. Is Procera 100% porcelain, or porcelian fused to metal?

I have an upper denture and lost a lot of teeth I can not afford dental implants

Wednesday, July 2nd, 2008
Q.
Hello I have a partial upper denture and have lost a lot of teeth in the lower jaw. All the remaining teeth that are left were crowned approx 10 years ago. I cannot afford a lot of implants but am wondering if implanted retained dentures would be a possibility. I had a panoramic xray last year and that confirmed bone loss in the upper jaw. I am 53 years old and suffer from diabetes [insulin controlled]. I also take other medication, details of which can be provided if necessary. I would be most grateful for your opinion on what you would consider to be the best treatment for me.

I use to suck my thumb growing up and as a result it looks as if my front teeth are missing. What can I do to have the smile I’ve never had?

My son had missing front teeth can he have dental implants on NHS

Tuesday, July 1st, 2008
Q.
My 16 year old son has his front two teeth but the teeth either side of these are missing (they have never come through). As well as this all his teeth are quite small, so I am worried that bridges would not be suitable. He has a brace at the moment to keep his teeth in place. Is there anywhere that he could have Implants on the NHS?

My bridge feel uncomfortable and bulky

Monday, June 30th, 2008
Q.
I have recently had a 3 tooth bridge fitted over three months ago. I am sure the dentist has fitted it incorrectly. It is very uncomfortable and feels bulky. The main problem is that on the inside of the bridge there is a lot of metal exposed under the gum where the porcelain does not cover, this feels like i have constant food stuck between the teeth and am constantly flossing to eliviate this sensation. My tongue rubs against the metal which is rough hence catching the side of my tongue and i have a constant metallic taste in my mouth. I am sure this is not right as i have a bridge on the adjacent side which i have had for 11 years with no problems whatsoever. My dentist sayes it is fine and I just need to get used to it. As 3 months have passed, and no improvement could you please give your opinion? Thank you
