Hi Dr Hughes, after a really scary experience I had with a dental surgery in my Twenties, I’ve had really bad teeth and have had a gap in the front offset to my left for some years, which I have never had it looked at or replaced. After reading a lot about bridge options I’m now too scared to see a dentist because of there condition, can you give me any advice and if there are now procedures in place for nervous customers. Thank you.

I’ve Been Scared Of Visiting A Dentist Since I Last Had Dental Surgery. What Can Be Done To Calm Me Down?
Thursday, January 23rd, 2014My Maryland Bride Has Fallen Out For The Second Time In Six Months. Surely It Should Last Longer Than This?
Monday, January 20th, 2014Hi Mark. I have had a Maryland bridge for 6 months on my front tooth to replace the one at the side of it. It has now fallen out twice so I have put my partial denture back in. This morning the tooth next to it (my front one) broke while I was cleaning my teeth. What am I best off doing as the front one has had a white filling in for a while. Surely a bridge should last longer than this? I can not afford lots of money at the moment as I only work part time. I look forward to your reply. Many thanks.
Are There Credit Opportunities Available For Me To Have Treatment On My Deep Bite And Crowding Problems?
Thursday, January 16th, 2014Hi! I had crowded teeth on my upper jaw during my childhood and it has been fixed with bridges. The treatment started with jaw enlargement, but there was not enough space for all the teeth. After the treatment the teeth on my lower progressed and started to become crowded, in addition I have a deep bite and jaw pains, as well as problems with chewing. I am 21 years old and would like to have treatment for this. The question I have is, if I am unable to carry out full payment, will there be credit opportunities available?
Thank you in advance for your help!
Would Going Abroad Be The Right Choice For Me When Considering Dental Implants?
Monday, January 13th, 2014 Hi I am 68 and my last remaining bridge has just come off due to the retaining teeth breaking up. I am missing teeth all around my mouth and now finding it difficult to bite and chew so I am currently looking to get a full set of implanted teeth. Access smile, Hungary and Polish smile, Poland are two dentists I am looking at. Do you have any comments about these companies and are there any recommendations you can make regarding other companies from abroad.
Regards.
I Am Unsure Whether To Switch To A Rochette Bridge As My Maryland Bridge Keeps Falling Out?
Thursday, January 2nd, 2014Hi Mark.
About 14 months ago I had an epileptic fit where I fell on my face. As a result I fractured one tooth and lost the other.
I began with wanting implants, but could not afford this option. It resulted in having a dental plate which recently led to a Maryland bridge being fitted.
However the bridge has come away three times now. Is there anything else that can be recommended? I have just heard of a Rochette bridge, I am unsure what to do?
Please can you give me some advice. Many thanks.
Would It Be Possible To Have A Bridge Fitted To My Crowns Or Would I Need New Crowns At Either Side?
Monday, December 16th, 2013Hello Dr Moore. My question is that I got my top four front teeth crowned a few years ago but now my tooth has come out. Would it be possible to have a bridge fitted to my existing crowns or would I have to get new crowns at either side? At the moment I have a single tooth plate but it’s rather problematic as I have to take it out to eat, which isn’t ideal. Do you know of any other treatment I could consider. Any help or advice on this problem would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.
My Bridges Are Deteriorating And My Choices Are Dental Implants Or Plastic Dentures. What Would You Suggests?
Friday, November 29th, 2013I have had a number of consultations with my local dentist, due to the deterioration in the teeth that are supporting two bridges (which I’ve had for about 20 years) on the upper left and right side of my mouth. The choices are plastic dentures or dental implants. To me implants are the only choice. My dentist would refer me to a private clinic, but I am keen to get as good impartial advice/consultation as possible. There is some sensitivity under my bridges and I don’t want to see further deterioration. I am very concerned about the cost as well, and if payment plans are possible, as my dentist is quoting £2000 per implant. Could you advise me? Would you offer a consultation? Many thanks.
How Reliable Are Cantilever Bridges As An Alternative To Implant Placement?
Thursday, November 28th, 2013Hello Dr Hussein Shaffie, Could you tell me how reliable are cantilever bridges as an alternative to implant placement? More specifically, in a situation where an implant has failed once? In the situation, there were two implants placed next to each other, and one failed. These are two of the front teeth, the lateral incisor and canine. The canine implant is still there, but the incisor implant failed. What do you recommend as the best option for someone interested in a more permanent solution than a retainer with teeth? Thank you for any advice you can offer.
I Am Considering A Maryland Bridge, How Long Do They Last With Good Oral Hygiene?
Tuesday, November 26th, 2013 Hi Marcus. I am considering having a Maryland Bridge put in because I hate wearing the flipper and I don’t want to wait a year for an implant. Is it true that the Maryland Bridge can cause my teeth to darken? How long can the Maryland bridge last with good oral hygiene?
I have already had the initial extraction and grafting done by an oral surgeon. I am now wearing the flipper but don’t like it. Hard to eat with and not easy to talk as I do lectures and training. Would the MB be a wise choice for me?
