My partners bridge came out should something else be used to regain his smile

Tuesday, June 16th, 2009
Q.
Hi My partner lost a tooth (front tooth) as he used to be a kickboxer and the nerve in the tooth got damaged. He has had a plate with a false tooth on it but this didn’t suit him. He recently had a bridge put in but has had it redone within two months of having it done and less than two months later it has come out again. He takes good care of it. When it has come out it looks like it has been bonded with the same thing that is used for fillings. Should something else be used? It seems odd that it has come out so quickly. He had gained confidence and was smiling again with his tooth but now after the second time of it coming out he feels pretty down. Any help or advice would be appreciated – I can send a picture of the false tooth and it’s fixings if you need it. Thanks

I had pain in second last upper tooth is there any possibility of alternate than implant or bridges

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009
Q.
I am about 43 & I had pain in my second last upper tooth. This tooth had very old filling. After some checkups my doctor suggests to go for implant as there is crack found after removing old filling. Now, I feel pain only if use that side for eating. My question is that, is there any possibility of simpler alternate than implant or bridge. In reality, I see many people simply extract the tooth, leave the space empty, live for years and get used to it. Thanks in advance. Regards

I loosing a lot of enamel when i get my marilyn bridge re cemented is there any other technique?

Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009
Q.
Hello, I have a question. I have had a marilyn bridge (between my canine and front incisor) since I was about 13 due to a congenital missing upper left incisor. Over the years my marilyn bridge has decemented (and subsequently fallen out) about every five years. About 5 years ago I tried to have an implant put in, but that surgery failed (and subsequently I lost most of my bone where the implant tried to take hold). My bridge feels loose again, but last time it was cemented in my dentist mentioned that I’m loosing a lot of enamel due to the sandblasting/adhering agents put on the back of my teeth. Is there something else I can try? I really don’t want to go through the bone regrafting and implant process again due to cost; but I’m worried about what will happen if I have to keep recementing the bridge back in… is there anyway to repair the enamel? Or another technique I could try? Thanks so much in advance for your advice.

i have recently been fitted with a one tooth denture and i am not happy is there another solution

Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009
Q.
I have recently been fitted with a one tooth denture ( eye tooth )on a metal palate which clips onto my top side teeth. I do have a recurring gum problem and the reason I have a palate fitted is because my previous crown root disintegrated when the crown itself broke and the root had to be removed from my gum. I have only had this solution for four days and cannot get used to it. I cannot taste my food and it causes me to retch. Is there another solution?

Monday, June 1st, 2009
Q.
I had two get two of my upper teeth (left hand side) removed as I had a bad infection in my gum. They two teeth were together and have left quite a large gap. I am very aware of this gap and is beginning to have an effect on my self confidence. I treid a plastic plate but i was very uncomfortable with it. I’m getting more and more down about it and wondered is there anything I can do??? Look forward to your advice.
