I’m thinking of going abroad for cosmetic dental treatment. Do you have any advice or information?

Q.
Hi, I have been for a consultation about my teeth and was told that i would need eleven full porcelain crowns on my top jaw and eleven on my bottom jaw plus an implant, the total cost come to twelve thousand pounds! which is abit rich for me, I have been online and been in touch with the bankok smile centre in thailand, and they would charge me four thousand pounds for the same treatment using full porcelain crowns and not the fused metal ones, do you have any knowledge of this practice? or could i find out about it from any were? I know this is not really what this website is about but I would be most grateful if you could reply, many thanks,

What is the difference in quality between NHS and private bridges?

Tuesday, September 28th, 2010
Q.
I have recently had a tooth extracted and have been told by my dentist that I should have a bridge fitted. As I now have a space where two teeth should be I would very much like to have this done.However.I cant decide if I should have a NHS bridge or it done privately. It is quite a substansial difference in cost. £400 for NHS and £1500 for private. What are your views on the quality of NHS bidges?,

What options does my son have to replace knocked out teeth?

Tuesday, September 28th, 2010
Q.
my son recently had his two front teeth knocked out playing rugby when someone decided to knee him in the face while he was lying on the ground. as a nineteen year old he wants some sort of replacement asap. the receptionist informed him that a plate would be in his best interest as he could then remove it before each game. he is devastated as he thought they might fit a bridge. please advise,
