Why has my dentist put in a bridge along with my five implanted teeth?

Monday, January 10th, 2011
Q.

I have 5 implants and my doctor has put a bridge as long as my five implanted teeth? I feel it shouldn’t be like that and the teeth should be seperate from each other. I apprecite to have your opinion in this case.

I am going to have a metal biting surface on my bottom molar, will this be affected by my teeth grinding during the night?

Wednesday, January 5th, 2011
Q.

I was at the dentist today, I had a tooth that was severely affected by internal resorbtion (sp?)… and the tooth was completely hollow on the inside so I had to have it extracted. My dentist told me before he got my temporary bridge back from the lab or whoever and said that my back molars( I had number 14 extracted) are too short for them to put porcelain on the botton of the tooth so the bottom will be metal. I have never heard of this and I was wondering is this common and i was quite qorried cause i sometimes wake up and felt sore from teeth grinding at night…

My teeth were filed down in preparation for a bridge but now the dentist says I can’t have them. What can I do?

Friday, December 17th, 2010
Q.

Good Evening. I have had my front teeth prepared for a fixed bridge. My 3 natural teeth were filed down and temporary bridge cemented on. It looks quite hideous to be honest, but I was prepared to put up with this in the expectation of a decent bridge, but dentist has told me he will do one long bridge over the filed down teeth now, instead of 3 crowns and a bridge fitted to these, as you say is how they are fitted. I am really fed up and want to confront this dentist, but he is a bit of a bully, so i need to be clear on what I can and can’t have. He told me, before the prep work, that my 3 natural teeth were strong enough to fit the bridge. Can you help, or advise, please. Thanks for your time.

Q.

How long can I wait to put a bridge after my tooth got extracted? It seems that the tooth next to it has moved because I felt the bump on the gum. It has been 4 months now.Thank you.

I have had my dental bridge since 1997 and fear it is reaching its end. How will I know and how long should it last?

Tuesday, December 7th, 2010
Q.

Sir,
I had a hit from a cricket ball in 1997 (age 22 that time) which broke my front two tooths and thereafter my dentist had put a bridge on adjacent tooths using porcelain as material. My question is
a) what is the life of a bridge?
b) Can it be removed and replaced after their life?
c) How do I know they are nearing the end i.e. what are the indicators for it? Presently I have no complaints with them but have anxiety lest they give away all of a sudden leading to possible embarrasement(the bridge has completed 13 years now)

Grateful for your revert.
