I am confused. I have a wobbly tooth at the front, and have got to have a bridge as have receding gums and therefore an implant is not practical. I have had all the pre dental work done and on monday, I go for my temporary bridge to be fitted at a cost of £468, 3 months after that I have to go and have a permanent bridge fitted cost of £1300 but no where on the internet am i reading about anyone having to have two bridges done, please advise thanks

Can I have a new bridge to cover 5 missing teeth in total?
Thursday, February 17th, 2011 Hi
i have been getting a lot of pain in the root area of my front upper bridge, my dentist informs me that i may have an abscess in one of the supporting teeth of the bridge. The tooth next to it is not very substantial and so i would have to have a bridge covering 5 teeth in total, centered on the two front teeth. Is this possible and what cost should i expect.

Friday, February 11th, 2011 Dear Dr Butt

What are my options for replacing missing and damaged teeth?
Wednesday, February 9th, 2011Hi,
As a boy of around 9 years old I managed to knock out tooth 9 in a cycling accident. Both 8 & 10 were also damaged and ended up being root filled. I wore a plate to the age of 18 but since then I have been wearing a Maryland bridge which has worked well. Over the years the bridge has come out a few times and 8 & 10 have become quite discoloured; also I think the Maryland is starting to loosen again.
My question is what is the best way forward for me from here?
1) Carry on as is – not sure if 8 & 10 can be cleaned in some way?
2) A bridge – I am worried about its longevity & weather the neighbouring teeth, which are root filled, are up to supporting it via crowns.
3) Go for an implant at 9 with single crowns at 8 & 10 – assuming it is viable.
4) Something I havent thought of?
I guess what I am looking for is an unbiased opinion of the right way forward. Any advice you can give to help me make the best decision would be much appreciated.

A bridge or a denture
I had a bridge fitted nine months ago and I am in constant pain, what should I do?
Tuesday, February 8th, 2011Hi, I had a bridge fitted nearly 9 months ago and have not had one day with either discomfort or pain. I have had extensive root treatment to the two teeth either side of the gap. I cannot cope with this pain any longer and am nearly at the point of having the bridge taken out (if the dentist I was referred to is happy to do this). I keep asking myself if this is the right thing (as this has been very expensive and painful) to do as I am convinced that there was nothing wrong with the two exisiting teeth but there’s something ‘wrong’ with the bridge itself. Could it be the bridge itself causing the problems or is the pain from existing teeth/crowns?
Thanks.
Could you tell me whether the estimated cost for a bridge unit is correct?
Friday, February 4th, 2011I was given an estimate foe a 4 unlt bridge but when I went for the permanents to be fitted, the technician had supplied a 3 unit bridge, saying it was a better look.I had to pay for a 4 unit bridge there and then before I left the surgery. When I questioned my dentist later about this,he said he did not know if the technician would make an adjustment on the price till his bill came to the practice. This seems wrong as my estimate was £690 per unit .Not an overall price for the bridge. Please advise!Thank you
