What treatment would you recommend for front tooth gap?

Monday, May 17th, 2010
Q.
Hi Dr. Patel. I live in Chicago, Illinois and I’ve been going to various dentist looking for help for my small gap in my two front teeth. I refuse to get braces and I’m trying to stay in my cost range. A friend of mine got her two front teeth bonded togther in the front. she said it was called a composite. I would like a composite as well. She said it only took about 30 mins. Any suggestion for me?,

Bonding has cracked – can this be fixed?

Thursday, March 4th, 2010
Q.
I have composite bonding on my front teeth to fill the gap, but this has cracked around one of them at the top. I need this corrected asap as its uncomfortable. I have moved to London but my NHS dentist is in Colchester, Essex. Also the bonding has only lasted a few months, therefore I do not think the dentist did a very good job, as it is supposed to last longer than that and has already been fixed once. Is this easily corrected? Do I need it done quickly as it feels like it will crack off? Is it possible to have the bonding redone safely?,

Would bonding or veneers or a filling help with chipped tooth?

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010
Q.
Hi, Can you please advise – is dental bonding the same as a ‘filling’? I have a chipped front tooth and have had it filled by my dentist somewhere around 10 times over the last two years – it keeps falling out. due the dentis ‘chipping’ away at the tooth each time this chip has now become much much larger – resulting in a big gap between my teeth (i feel as though half of my tooth has gone) I have also looked at veneers but am put off due to the fact i think it would be far more noticeable against my other front tooth. could you please advise on this also. Many thanks,

Q.
Hello, i have been grinding my teeth for a while now and my two top front teeth are worn down one alot more then the other, i waer a night guard so there wont be any further damage. i have been to my dentist he says i need four veneers on my top teeth as this will work out to be very expensive i was thinkin could i not just have the top two bonded?? or just the one which is the worst they are not that bad just the one being shorter then the other really bothers me? also what are the disadvantages of teeth bonding?? Thankyou in advance for you answer,

Dentist has told me to get crowns but can I get teeth removed instead?

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010
Q.
I have an overbite and my only teeth that I dislike so much are my two front teeth. They are longer than all my other teeth and starting to overlap each other. I have consulted My dentist and he suggested I have them capped or crowned. What I would really like is to have them knocked out so I can have two new teeth that match the rest of my Teeth which are all in perfect condition. Would you have any other reccomendations as to how I can fix this problem?,

Is composite filling cause of sore gums?

Monday, January 18th, 2010
Q.
5 months ago I had a small gap between by two front teeth closed with white filling (composite bonding). It looks great, feels fine, and is easy to clean and maintain so i am very happy with it. However, over the last few months, my gum surrounding one of the teeth and the gum in the centre of the teeth has become red and puffy and sore looking. I am dedicated to keeping my teeth and gums healthy and no other teeth have this problem, my other gums are fine. I am off to see a hygeniest tomorrow, but it this a common complaint with this type of cosmetic procedure? i have never seen gum problems on the list of cons for composite bonding. Any idea what could be cuasing the redness and puffiness, bearing in mind i floss and brush my teeth 3 times a day and use mouthash as well. Thank you.,
