I had a veneer six years ago to replace one that broke. The veneer looked very good when fitted colour etc, but immediately upon eating found that the bottom teeth hit the underside of the veneer. Returning to the dentist they then took away some of the back of the veneer, which made eating ok again.
Six months later after eating a piece of hard bread the tooth cracked at one side. Again returning to the dentist they smoothed down the tooth, it was now slightly shorter and rounder.
I did contact the dentist 2 years later who said they would replace it, as I preferred the original veneer, (unfortunately they couldn�t find the original mould) but thought the same thing could happen again so I decided to leave it.
However never being entirely happy with this tooth I wondered what your thoughts were, and if cosmetic bonding to fill in the slightly chipped look and to make the tooth slightly longer would work?
The tooth next to the veneer has been aligned slightly with composite bonding that was done at the same time the original veneer was fitted by the dentist.

Thursday, May 12th, 2011my 14 yr old daughter has seen an orthodentist who has said she needs 4 extractions and then a brace. she has only minor crowding on the bottom front teeth at one side and doesn’t like her pointy canines at the top which are noticible when she smiles.the dentist said she needed the extractions to be able to line up her bite correctly. on looking at her the teeth are only a couple of mm off and not really noticible. given that her issues seem quite minor would she be able to correct the canines with veneers to achieve as nicer look without all the extractions and braces.
I would like a gap closed with cosmetic bonding, veneers, crowns or teeth whitening – cost?

I would like my to get the gaps in my teeth closed, my teeth whitening and slightly shaped. I would also like both top and bottom rows done, apart from my morlars on both rows.
Generally how much do you think this would cost with the following:
a) Cosmetic Bonding
b) Veneers
c) Crowns
Is there anything else you would suggest that would be better for me to do to achieve my aim?

My front teeth are slightly crowded, protruding by about 3.5mm. I am wondering about getting veneers to slightly reduce this, as i am an actor and aesthetics are very important to me. I have read of new dentin bonding technologies that allow veneers to correct such a problem, and was just wondering if you thought this was a wise idea.
