My Teeth Have Grown Misaligned. Would It Be Possible For Me To Have Straighter Teeth?

Friday, October 10th, 2014
Q.

Hi Dr. Mark Hughes!

If may I ask, I have some few question for you about teeth and my gums.

First things is, is it possible for me to have straighter teeth as mine have grown inward and some teeth have grown outward? I have this one tooth in front that is not aligned with the others which really bothers me when I smile, laugh or just talk and this tooth really stands out.

Plus the formation of my front teeth are outward. I just want to ask if my teeth could still be fixed?

Hoping for your reply.

Thanks in advance!

I Have Two Missing Front Teeth And I Would Like To Know How Much It Will Cost For A Dental Implant?

Friday, October 10th, 2014
Q.

Hello Dr Gambroudes. Good afternoon, I just want to ask you about how much it’ll cost for dental implant? I have two missing teeth at the front. This makes smiling or taking a photograph on social occasions very difficult and I would like to have this fixed. Could braces close this gap or would it have to be a dental implant? And do you know of any special offers for this type of treatment. Thank you for your time in advance.

I’ve Recently Had A New Bridge Fitted, But I Am Unhappy As My Teeth Seem Too Big. Is There Any Way This Can Be Sorted Out?

Thursday, October 9th, 2014
Q.

Hi Mark. I have a new bridge on my front teeth, 3 units to replace the original bridge which broke, but I am not happy with it as my teeth are too long. Can the teeth be shortened or am I stuck with it? Also it doesn’t fit correctly as my bottom tooth hits the metal on the back of my front tooth. I am also unable to close my back teeth together. It was done through the NHS and I know the teeth underneath are highly compromised, so I think it’s unlikely that it can be taken off without damaging what’s left of my front teeth. I am unable to afford implants unfortunately, so is there a way this bridge can be sorted? Thank you.

I Have One Chipped Front Tooth And The Other Is Large And Wonky. What’s The Best Option For This?

Thursday, October 9th, 2014
Q.

Hi, Dr Gambroudes. I have two big front teeth with a large gap. One of these is chipped and the other is moving outwards making the gap larger and wonky. Please can you suggest what I can do? What’s the best option for this? What cost is involved? And could I have treatment on the NHS as I’m not working at the moment?

It’s really making me depressed and I’m not leaving my house and my job ended because my confidence is zero. I am now suffering from aggraphobia because I don’t want to leave the house and meet people.

Please help. Thank you.

My Wife Is In Need Of Seven Dental Implants. Do You Know If This Is Possible Through The NHS?

Thursday, October 9th, 2014
Q.

Hello Mark. My wife is in need of seven dental implants. Do you know if she can get this procedure done for free on the nhs as she is finding it hard to eat and it is causing her to be depressed. It is affecting her confidence and mental well being. We are in need of advice as we do not know where to turn to for her dentist referred her to one dental hospital, but she did not fit their criteria. Could you please give us some advice please? Thank you.

How Can I Reduce The Gap Between My Front Teeth Without The Use Of Braces?

Thursday, October 9th, 2014
Q.

Dear Dr Gambroudes. How do I reduce the gap between my front teeth. I have actually had my braces put back 1 year, but this gap has re-occurred. Can you suggest to me any ideas to get rid of this gap? I had this gap before and I had braces put in to close it. I don’t want to have braces any more because I had them for almost 2 years and I had a retainer but it still came back again. Is there anything that can be done without putting braces on? The gap is not that much but it is uncomfortable for me. Thank you for your time.

I Have Been Told That I Could Have A Lower Bone Graft For Dental Implants. Does This Sound Correct?

Wednesday, October 8th, 2014
Q.

Hi. I have a full lower denture that is totally loose and unretentive to the point where I have to remove it in order to eat, although aesthetically it looks good.
I have been advised that I need a bone graft as the lower gum has been ground down to such an extent. I have no suction retention whatsoever due to a very dry mouth induced by necessary medication I need to take. I have been advised that after a lower bone graft I could be fitted with two conventional implants to give retention. My previous mini implants were unsatisfactory and needed to be removed. Does the advice I have been given sound right to you and does your clinic carry out such work?

Many thanks.

My Two Front Teeth Stand Out More Than My Others. They Sometimes Cause Me Pain. What Can I Do?

Wednesday, October 8th, 2014
Q.

Hi there, Dr Gambroudes. My upper front two teeth stick out a lot more than my other ones and they are significantly bigger whilst also being bent. I’m 20 years old now so I doubt there’s much chance they’ll fix themselves now. I think they’ve been like this for quite a while now but its only begun annoying me in the past year as I’ve become really self conscious. I also suffer from pain in these two teeth on and off. If I wanted to go about fixing this what are my options? I really suffer from a lack of self confidence as I’ve become more and more aware about these problems. Thanks.

I Have Decided To Switch To Private Treatment To Align My Teeth. Do You Know Of Any Clinics That Could Help Us?

Wednesday, October 8th, 2014
Q.

Hi Mark. I’m 18 and have been wearing braces for the past three years now under the NHS. There hasn’t been much progress with their treatment which is why I’ve decided to opt to seek private treatment. I have my two lateral incisors missing at the top. I was wondering what kind of treatment options I would have and if so what clinics within the UK could provide this. I would like to sort this issue out as soon as possible. I hope to hear from you soon.
Thank you.

My Teeth Are Crowded And I’m Uncomfortable With The Way My Smile Looks. Should I Have Braces?

Wednesday, October 8th, 2014
Q.

Hello Dr Gambroudes. 12 years ago I lost an upper tooth when I was young. My other teeth came together to fill the gap but know I can’t smile in front of other people as I don’t feel comfortable with the way it looks. Now one upper tooth is too big compared to the others which are small. I think I need a gap filling through the use of braces. Can you tell me if this would help? I have never been to a dentist so I don’t know what to do really. Please provide me with information about what should I do. Thank you very much.
