My Plate Doesn’t Feel Right, What Should I Do?

Tuesday, February 10th, 2015
Q.

Hello. I am a 68 year old lady. My crown broke off next to my front teeth so the dentist did my front tooth with two side back teeth which she said would hold in better. Should the plate come half way down my teeth? My bite hits the plate and seems to push the bottom jaw to the side. It doesn’t feel right, it’s putting pressure on my front teeth wich are crowns too. I am really worried and don’t like wearing them. They cost me 290 pounds so what can I do? Thanks for your time.

Should I Get Endodontic and Prosthodontic Treatment?

Tuesday, February 10th, 2015
Q.

My front central incisors are big and protruding and rest of my teeth are aligned and straight. My orthodontic asked me to go to a prosthodontist and an endodontist for my two teeth. I am concerned how it will go inward and sharpen up. I am more concerned about the procedure. Moreover, endodontics means my tooth will be dead after etc. I am also concerned about the life of a prosthetic cap. Please help, shall I go for it? What do you call this treatment, is it porcelain veneers? What is the cost of that? What is the durability and precautions? Please help, thanks.

How Much Should I be Paying for a Bridge?

Tuesday, February 10th, 2015
Q.

Hello. I see on your website the cost of a bridge is between 300 and 900 pounds per unit. I have to re-do a bridge which is made of one missing tooth (canine), 2 crowns on one side and 1 on the other side. I have been quoted 1,000 pounds per tooth, total 4,000 pounds. It seems quite high to me, so I wanted to get your opinion. Note that the dentist has given that to me as a fixed price, we haven’t done x-rays yet, so the price is not due to my specific circumstance. What do you think? Many thanks.

Can A Crown be Placed on a Loose Tooth?

Tuesday, February 10th, 2015
Q.

Good afternoon. I cracked my tooth and the dentist pulled out the loose piece. The remaining tooth is somewhat loose. I have been trying to get him to put on a crown, since it has been exposed for two weeks and is hurting. He is telling me that you can’t put a crown on a loose tooth. However, my research indicates this is not true. Also, when is a root canal done? I have been to see him 3-4 times and he keeps changing his mind. One time I need a root canal the next time I don’t. Please advise.

Can My Middle Teeth be Straightened so They are Central and Correct?

Friday, February 6th, 2015
Q.

I have a middle line tooth. My two middle teeth are off set to the right, causing my tooth to be centred in my mouth line. Is there anything that can be done to straighten the middle two to have them central and correct? Thank you. I had braces when I was younger to push them over but it didn’t work. My teeth are too big for my mouth and I’m missing an incisor on one side, so this is what causes the teeth and centre line not to be straight. I know Tom Cruise suffers from the same problem! If that helps for a visual aspect.

Which Braces are the Best and Most Affordable to Treat a Relapsed Tooth?

Friday, February 6th, 2015
Q.

Since I was around nine or ten, until I was around 15, I had different types of braces to move my teeth and had extractions too. After having fixed braces and using the retainer for around a year the retainer broke and I couldn’t get an appointment for a while so one of my teeth, on the top right hand side between my front tooth and canine, has moved back from the rest, which are still straight. I would like to have braces just on the top to correct this. Which ones would be best and the most affordable, as I am 18 and a uni student? Thank you.

My Implanted Tooth has Chipped, Can This Be Corrected by a Dentist?

Friday, February 6th, 2015
Q.

I had two implants put in at side of mouth recently. When the final teeth were fitted I had a gap between the front implant tooth and my canine tooth so dentist filled the front canine tooth at the side to fill the gap as I had a filling there anyway. When I got home later and looked I realised he had chipped a bit off my new implant tooth and it has seemed to have removed the shine. My question is, can it be corrected chair -side by a dentist or would I have to get the tooth made again? Someone told me it can be done but not all dentists do this?

Can I Have My Teeth Screwed in After Having Dentures for 29 Years?

Friday, February 6th, 2015
Q.

How much does it cost to have your teeth screwed in? I’ve had dentures for 29 years and I hate them. All my teeth are bad. Can I even get screwed in teeth after having dentures for so long? Are there any dental plans that help with the cost? I am poor and living on social security. What are veneers? Do you take them out or are they permanent? I hate having something on the roof of my mouth and my teeth don’t fit me well and sometimes cause discomfort.

Can a Gap be Closed Without Loosening the Teeth?

Thursday, February 5th, 2015
Q.

Hello, I have a number of questions to ask. Firstly, I have little gaps between my upper teeth. A gap between central incisors, and between the lateral incisor and the central incisor (both the sides).
Can this gap be removed without my teeth becoming loose? Will this treatment be permanent? Secondly, I want to lighten the color tone of my teeth? I have a yellowish tone on my teeth.
Finally, is bleaching a good idea to lighten the color tone of teeth? I asked my local dentist he told me to get them bleached, or does it loosen the teeth attachment?
Thankyou.

What Alternatives Are There for False Teeth?

Thursday, February 5th, 2015
Q.

Hi. I have lost all my top teeth along with my confidence. I would be okay with false teeth but is there a more realistic option such as dental implants? Also, I feel ashamed of my situation and would like to know the best way to approach it. I also have a huge fear of dentists and needles etc. This stems from being a child and treated poorly by a dentist who removed healthy teeth for no reason and performed other unnecessary work.
