Dear Dr Caplan I am 49 years old and have substantial bone loss top and bottom jaws. I have in the past been referred to the dental section of Torbay hospital and now I have my teeth strapped upper and lower. Last year I had some xrays taken and my then dentist thought that there might be enough bone for implants but I would need quite a few I think. I believe the cost would be very expensive but the thought of dentures makes me so depressed. I wondered if you might be able to give me an indication on time span and cost if that my be possible. One of my dental implants has fallen out what is the cause of that ?

I had a couple of implants, 6 and 7, inserted in one session at the beginning of 2006 after bone transplant. Since then biting on that side has not caused me any problems. However, last month the No 7 tooth became loose and, despite antibitiotics treatment, quickly fell out. What would be the likely cause of that (infection?) and can anything be done now please? I lost my upper teeth and some of my lower teeth after suffering excess acid problems for 10 yrs now i have dentures of which i cant wear the bottom set and i hate the upper ones but i have to wear them,do you think it was possible for me to have denture implants and would this be very expensive. thank you C

I have neglected my teeth of rmany years. I ahve had partial dentures since age 14. Now that dentistry has advanced so far I think it is time to get sorted. Is it possible to have top front implants after all this time? I think I would need six, any idea what the cost might be?

As a working mother of 4 chidren who all have excellent teeth due to my misfortune of having the worst set in the world due to neglect poor diet and an accident dental implants is now my only hope i have had crowns but time takes its toll and the roots are splitting that was the worst day 4 me .i sat and cried when my dentist pulled the last bits out,could,nt speak just left the room and walked 4 ours crying in town knowing that my nightmare had really began it was down hill from thier on .i,m only 37 Dental implants could save me but the catch £32,000 not a hope in hell .is thier assistance out thier for the people like me who mentally would have a happier life if only we could afford to get this treatment done.i have all the usual marks Smile wots that havent had one of those for so many years im so ashamed of wot can be seen even for them close to me.

Hello, I am just planning on getting Veneers. I am 18 years of age, and my teeth are really getting to me. There in no disgusting state, well actually far from it. But the idea of having straight teeth is just amazing. Especially being in the performing industry. I have been knocked back for a few jobs because of my teeth. And sometimes not gone to auditions because of them. If you could help. Would be amazing.
