When the dentist was placing the permanent I never had anesthesia can this be trauma related? if so, is the dentit responsible for paying any additional treatment I maight need since it was negigence? my dentures don’t fit well and make me feel sick – can I insist that my NHS dentist fit a bridge instead?Wednesday, January 12th, 2011
Hi, I lost both my upper front teeth nearly two years ago and have had several removed from further back. I have had two dentures made, both make me feel physically sick and effect me everyday. They hurt constantly and I can’t wait to get home and take them out. Everyone I have spoken to do not have this problem.
I want to go back to my dentist and ask for a dental bridge, which has never been offered to me. I am only 45 and this seriously effects me professionally and personally. I receive NHS dentistry and wonder if I could insist on a bridge.
At my wits end, thank you so much for your help.
I am 56 years of age and have had dentures since I was 21 I have been to the dentist today for a check up and to ask if my dentures could be relighned but was informed that it would be a waste of money as it would not make any improvement as I have no bone structure at all on my lower jaw and she suggested an inplant to reconstruct the jaw in order for me to wear dentures without them moving around my mouth but this would be at a cost of between £3,000 to £4,000 I cannot possibly afford this as I am on benefits. I am really depressed can you tell me anything different?
