What is the best braces treatment for me?

Tuesday, February 9th, 2010
Q.
I wanted to ask about the various options available to me and if one type of orthodontic treatment is more effective than the other. My wisdom teeth are starting to come through and this is causing my one of my front teeth to rotate inwards, and my two bottom front teeth to rotate. I’ve been recommended the Damon system, where teeth would be removed and so the teeth pull into alignment, could this be achieved by invisalign or lingual braces? and what are the difference in cost? For top and bottom braces, I’ve been quoted about £4500, would this seem accurate? Kind regards. Li,

What can be done for chipped tooth treatment gone wrong?

Tuesday, February 9th, 2010
Q.
Hi my boyfriend chipped the edge of one of his front teeth – whilst he had a white filling added two weeks ago it had come off while he was eating. When he went back to the dentist this time he asked for another filling but was concerned as it might just keep coming off – the dentist said he could use a pin but didn’t like to do that procedure So my boyfried thought he would just proceed with doing a normal filling and that he would just have to keep going back every time it came off But the dentist went ahead without consent to using the pin which has cracked his tooth and you can see it clearly through the white filling. My boyfriend is absolutely devestated. We live in rural wales and NHS dentists are like golddust so we have to go with whatever dentist is conveniently near! What do you recommend that he does? I really need your advice! Many thanks,

Should I opt for veneers or fillers for crooked top teeth?

Monday, February 8th, 2010
Q.
I have to crooked top teeth on either side of the two central top teeth (due to wisdom teeth). The dentist has given me the option to have either fillers at around £100 pound each or veneers at approx £200 each. Both would need replacing in the future. Advise please,

Are dentures best option for painful and decaying teeth?

Monday, February 8th, 2010
Q.
I have a real serious problem. I went to a dentist because my teeth were just breaking apart piece by piece. They ended up pulling all my top teeth and gave me a denture. They said they could save my bottom teeth with root canals and fillings. Well after thousands of dollars almost everyone tooth on the bottom has now broken off and I am in serious pain. My grandfather, mother and sister all have had this happen to them too. Sometimes I can just run my tongue over my teeth and my teeth come off in like a gooey substance. There is not much left and I stay in pain. My dentist really screwed me. Can you tell me what is wrong with my teeth? I am sure I need dentures now on the bottom but after all that I paid and still paying I can’t afford to do anything else. In pain in Washington State,
