I’ve got gaps, missing teeth and damage from gum disease, are veneers a good option?

Friday, March 25th, 2011
Q.

I have some black gaps either side if my upper 4’s. I have no 3’s as they erupted late and were removed. Thre is some recession buccally too so the tooth looks like a 3 which is fine but i hate the black spaces which is a result of past perio disease from when i smoked. I have good oral health now and I have heard about guided tissue regeneration. The papillae is still present but has lost the knife edge shape. Can a specialist in this field help or do i have to opt for a bulky vaneer?

My teeth are in bad condition, I am considering cosmetic dentistry but don’t know where to start, any advice?

Friday, March 25th, 2011
Q.

I am considering cosmetic dental treatment and need to understand precisely what it is I am looking for. My teeth have never been particularly strong despite regular brushing and flossing and I am now almost in despair. I have 1 crown that had just snapped, one back tooth that needs to be removed, a further root canal that has yet to be crowned and a number of large fillings that I am certain will not last too much longer. I really want to know if implants are the way forward or what else I can do to salvage my remaining teeth!!! Dare I say I have a mortal fear of the dentist and almost feel embarassed to visit given my current situation, please help!!!!

I have a cavity that formed under a crown that was installed less than 6 months ago. Is this normal or was the dentist negligent?

Can I get dental implants fitted on the NHS?

Thursday, March 24th, 2011
Q.

Could I get implants on the NHS?
I have had to have 13 rear teeth/gold crowns removed due to treatment for throat cancer.
I have tried dentures but continually gag on them. Gaging also causes a problem with heartburn – I have a hiatus hernia.
There is also a problem with lack of saliva which I treat with rubbing Biotene Oral Balance Gel on my gums, but can’t with dentures in.
Would be grateful for your advice.

Can I whiten my teeth despite having calcium deposits?

Thursday, March 24th, 2011
Q.

Hi, My teeth have slightly moved after having braces when I was younger, I was considering to get invisalign braces. However I have calcium deposits on my teeth and would like a bright white smile.
I am too scared for veneers, but is there anything else stronger maybe then tooth whitening that would ensure all of the teeth are white? I looked up and seen composite bonding, would that work? Thank you for your help.
