I have gum recession due to hard brushing I need a soft tissue gum graft

Hi, Please could you advise. I have gum recession due to harsh brushing almost all the way round the top front and lower front jaw and a bit at the rear of the front lower incissors (since changed toothbrush to sonic soft bristle). Bits of dentine show under the gum and the gums on the teeth have gone to a V shape showing dentine. I regularly visit my dentist. He’s reffered me to a gum specialist but he advised that the method they use is pulling the gum down and that doesn’t always work. I have no bone loss or disease etc as the dentist has xrayed and tested for all that.

I have read on the net that in the USA and India they do soft tissue grafts from the palate or donor tissue grafts to place round inside the receded gums which then cover the exposed dentine. My teeth aern’t loose nor do they hurt, i’m just worried about it. Is there anywhere in the UK, India, or the USA where I could go and just quickly get this problem fixed as the worry of it is taking over my life. I have for almost 20 years never had anything with sugar or acidic juices etc and floss and brush well. But ive brushed a bit too hard. Because of the exposure of dentine and recedings, I am scared of ever loosing my teeth. I have only 3 fillings ever and all but one of my natural teeth white teeth. I also regularly visit the hygenist as well. I want to go somewhere reliable who can do the job well and fix my depressing problem. Thank you. S

My front tooth is growing out of my gum and I cant afford braces

Hiya, one of my very front teeth grew on the gum so it protrudes quite a bit plus I knocked it when I was younger and it is now discoloured due to it dying. What is the best and quickest procedure to fix my smile other than braces. I\’m 23 and nither have the money or time for braces. Regards

how are lumineers affected by brushing and flossing?

will cosmetic contouring straighten my front teeth

What is cosmetic contouring? Does it help to straighten teeth? I have good teeth but it’s just my 2 front teeth are slightly forward and the one next to it is slightly back. The rest of my teeth are ok.I was hoping that i would not need to wear braces to fix this. Can anyone please advise me as to what i can do?

I have a root infected molar tooth should I have an implant

I have a molar tooth which has been root filled & has had a crown for several years. An infection developed in the gum root which was treated by antiobiotics but my dentist is certain it will recur & has advised removal of this tooth. If I want an implant how long should I wait after extraction due to the posible presence of infection still being there? Can you give me any other advice as to the best way to go about this. Should my own dentist remove the tooth or should the cosmetic dentist do the whole job? Many thanks.

My jaw clicks and locks i cant eat solid foods and it hurts

My jaw isnt straight and it clicks and locks most days- for the past few months i havent been able to eat solids without my jaw hurting so i\’d rather not eat. my old dentist said i\’d need my jaw broken and realigned, but my new dentist wont do anything. i\’m in constant pain and i dont know what to do. is there anything you can suggest? please!

My two front teeth overlap if i have veneers will I look like a rabbit?

My two front teeth are overlapping and one is slightly longer than the other. As a child I had years of braces to get them as they are now – they were a lot worse!! However I have never been happy with them and recently, after plucking up the courage, asked advice from my dentist as to whether veneers might be an option. He said that he wasn’t happy to fiddle with teeth that were healthy and that if I had veneers i might look like a rabbit. No other advice was given. Are there other options?

I have mild over crowding and want to straighten one tooth

Hi, I have mildly overcrowded teeth on my upper and lower jaw. One of my lateral incisors (the tooth next my right front tooth) has become crooked and partly pushed behind my right central incisor (front tooth). In photos this gives the appearance that I have a gap in my teeth and is making me feel self conscious about my smile. I don\’t want braces and just want to straighten this one tooth out – or improve it’s appearance in some way. I’m totally happy with the rest of my teeth. Could veneers help me or is the only way to go braces? Do you have any idea how much treating this one tooth might cost? Thanks for your time!
