Does Jaw Surgery Cause Permanent Numbness?

Hey Marcus. I’m interested in jaw surgery as I’ve noticed that I have a slight overbite and a very small chin, so my chin and nose do not look in symmetry. I’m interested in jaw surgery but the fact that one of the risk is numbness or permanent numbness is scaring me! I’m 17 so can you please throw some light about the risk of permanent numbness, and if it’s common or rare? I have very low self esteem as I am starting to notice it more, even though when I tell my friends they say they can’t notice it. It just puts me down, my facial profile is not balanced and although I am grateful that I’m not in physical harm, I would like to know what you could do to sort this problem out! Thank you.

Does Pregnancy Cause Problems with Inman Aligner Treatment?

Hi Dr Gambroudes. I am picking up my Inman Aligner this Friday, and the treatment is due to be complete in a few months. My question is:
If I were to become pregnant during this time, would this cause problems my treatment? I have read some things on the internet that it shouldn’t be a problem but others have said it would be, which is true? Thank you in advance for your time!

Hi Marcus. My top and bottom teeth are crooked and my jaw is misaligned. When I bring my top and bottom teeth together, there is a gap in the middle. I am always insecure when it comes to smiling and I have had crooked teeth ever since I was little. I would really hope I can get braces to straighten my teeth. Will braces fix my misaligned jaw and how much will I have to pay for braces? Also, what are the ways to pay for private treatment? Can I pay by deposit or do I have to pay all at once? Thanks.

I Have Perfect Teeth, But They Don’t Show As Much As I’d Like As My Lips Come Down Too Far. What Can I Do?

Hello Dr Gambroudes, I have perfect teeth and lips but when I smile only a quarter of my upper set of teeth are visible. This is really annoying. I think I might have a low lip-line. Please help me to fix this problem. I don’t want to undergo any surgery and I would like to know if there is any way to lower my upper set of teeth so that they are visible when I smile. This is my only problem apart from this I have perfect teeth. If I do this, will my teeth look too long? What can I do? Thank you for your time.

When Replacing A Crown, Will My Dentist Have To Shave Down Further? I Don’t Want To Loose More Tooth Structure.

Hi Marcus. When replacing a crown do you have to shave the tooth again? I am concerned about losing more tooth structure and upsetting the nerve as it is a tooth that hasn’t had a root canal. I wanted it changing as I am thinking of getting veneers on the teeth either side of It. Is it possible to just take the crown off then just replace it with a better looking crown rather than have to drill more tooth away and risk root canal treatment. I have had a root canal done before and 4 weeks later my tooth turned black and caused me pain for a long time. Thanks.

Hello Marcus. I have a large overbite which causes me real unhappiness. I feel ugly and embarrassed and paranoid that people laugh at me this is really getting me down. My dentist has said it will cause me problems in the future because my bottom teeth hit my gums. I don’t have a bite. I bite with the side of my mouth. Is there anyway I could have orthodontic treatment on the NHS as I’m not in a position to pay thousands of pounds, if I was I would get it sorted tomorrow. Thank you for you time.

I was just wondering what would be the best option to make them look nice and white? Hello, Dr Gambroudes. I have a very bad problem with my teeth as I have black dots on them and they are very yellow. I hate my teeth I feel so depressed, I can’t even talk to people due to embarrassment. They are also not straight. This affects me when trying to find a job because I’m afraid of talking to people in case they see my teeth. I am 17 years old. Do you think I could get veneers done for free as my parents are also on benefits? I don’t think they could afford to get me veneers. Thank you.

My Front Teeth Have Developed Very Large Gaps In Between Them. Could I Have This Problem Resolved Via The NHS?

Hello Marcus, I would like some advice please.
My 4 top front teeth have developed very large horrible gaps in between them.
They look very horrible and noticeable. They are getting me down and people are staring at them and making horrible remarks about them.
I no longer smile or laugh as my teeth would be on show.
Can I have this problem resolved via the NHS as I am on certain benefits that exempt me from usual dentist treatment.

Hi. I Have A Mild Underbite Which I’d Like To Fix. Can This Be Done Without Dental Surgery?

Dear Dr,

I’m a 34 years old woman.

I have a mild underbite which I’d like to be fix (or improve the look of).

I’d like to know if it is really possible to fix the look of a mild underbite, (narrow upper jaw) without surgery?

I’ve done some research and I found a few places in the US where they do it.
I can’t find any cosmetic dental surgery where they fix the underbite look without surgery.
